It was a fantastic boat ride with great commentary. Saw lots wildlife, the dolphins were my favourite. No whales unfortunately. I would advice warm coat as it was cold and a hair tie for longer hair, beanie would of been good for the cold ears. Overall I would definitely recommend doing this, worth the money!

An amazing afternoon out. The boat has seats undercover from the middle to back of the boat. Also a small number of seats at the front with seatbelts if you’re after more of a thrill going over the waves. We saw many seals and dolphins on the trip - whales were not expected at this time of year. The guides shared interesting information about the landmarks and marine life. It was a rough afternoon with 2-3 meter swells so the trip was like a roller coaster ride. Heaps of fun provided you don’t get sea sick easily. Makes for a lovely day out, especially when paired with other tourist attractions at victor harbour.
Can highly recommend and would go again. Thanks to the operators.

Very well organized and informative. Didn't find any whales, but saw sea lions, seals and the dolphins came up really close to the boat. The raincoats they provide are great! Keeps you dry and warm.

This is the second time my wife son & I have been done this tour. Because of our positive experience last time we didn't hesitate to take our Japanese exchange Student plus two more family members on this tour. Once again two thumbs up :-) They thoroughly enjoyed it and so did we. Although not guaranteed spotting of wild Dolphins, the crew do their upmost to make it happen. We had the thrill of having one of the Pods come up and swim around the boat. The Dolphins are only one part of the whole tour. Do yourself a big favour and go on one of Big Duck Tours

Definitely not recommended if you are travelling with children or teenagers.
First of all, neither whales, nor dolphins were spotted in our tour. Just a few sea lions and some seals. This is not the tour's fault but it would have improved the experience.
Maybe this opinion doesn't match the most of the ones you can find in TripAdvisor about this tour, but, from my experience, if you have the opportunity of taking other sea tours in the south of Australia, I would recommend to avoid this. We enjoyed much more our short trekking in Granite Island.
This review is intended only to inform other travellers about what is not told in the website and propose some improvements to the tour managers.
The pros are they provide a full body raincoat to avoid getting wet, which we really appreciated and that the cliffs and the islands scenario are really amazing.
How could the managers of this tour improve the customer experience?
Firstly, staff is professional but not as friendly as in other tours we have participated in South Australia. I am sure that informations were accurate, but explained with a lack of passion or fun. Additionally, rofessional but cold reception and farewell of their guests. Even for those that were happy with the tour and tried to thank them.
Secondly, there is a rule in the boat which states that children under 16 cannot sit in the front seat, where the most fun of the tour happens, whether you spot animals or not. We didn't discus the safety rule, because rules are rules. However, after experiencing the trip we definitely do not understand it and I would recommend the company to review it . My children were more corpulent than some of the adults who had the age to sit on those seats, old enough to behave correctly and probably, with more experience in the sea. Maybe, the decission should be taken in terms of height and weight. I could also understand a restrictions for children under 9 years old. Nevertheless, as said, rules are rules, and due to this we were confined behind a screen, where you miss most of the fun. So that, if travelling with children or teens who enjoy speed and sea, this is not the experience.
Finally, I would also recommend to include this rule in the information we receive when the tour is confirmed in order to avoid this feeling of being punished for travelling with kids. My children wanted to arrive the first to the boat in order to choose the seats. We arrived early enough to be the first to enter the boat, so imagine their feeling when they were told that they could not seat in the front. As a result, the youngest fell asleep from boredom and the oldest asked me to write this review to inform other families about the limitations of the tour.
In summary, a nice trip boat that turned out to be quite boring and in which we are not sure that children are welcomed (although they never said so).

We advertise our tours as 'scenice cruises' the opportunity to see marine wildlife is a bonus to all tours that some days is more abundant than other days. The history and scenery of the area is what we highlight on our tours as it is the draw card of our area and a factor that is not hinged on wildlife coming up to say hello to our guests.
We stipulate in our communications with our guests that the wildlife sightings are not guarunteed as they are wild.
just the other day we had a pod of large numbers come straight up to the boat, which was a great bonus for that tour day.
The restrictions that we have put in place in regards to, age limits, capabilities, seating arrangements, speed etc. are all implemented so that we can meet the standards of insurance capanies, which have recently imposed more strict rules on all tourism companies. If we dont abide by these restrictions, we dont have the insurance and therefor our passengers are not protected nor covered to jump on board and enjoy our tours.
I can understand how some children might be more veresed in boats and the ocean, however to change some restrictions to weight or height would become very invasive for passengers and still not meet the rules we need to abide by.
