Great tour! Our guide was very informative, she told us about almost every flower and animal in the area and provided a ton of great history. The lunch provided by Grill Sgt was also very good—lots of history and cultural demonstrations added to the experience. Definitely recommend.

Easy kayaking experience. History, nature and culture all put together in one experience.
The park is very well thought out. It is very rustic which was nice. We where the only two who had signed up for the kayak tour. The other 100 people or so at our time slot did the boat tour. I absolutely loved being able to take our time and enjoy the river. Our guide was new and had good information. The botanical park was great because everything was labeled. The making of fire and the weaving was fascinating. The lunch was great. The owner was a super kind man who helped us figure out our taxi situation. I would recommend experiencing this Chamorro history.

Kayaking

Thoroughly enjoyed the kayaking. During the kayaking you stop to see some beautiful things: land crabs, catfish and other fish, the animal sanctuary, rare fruits and plants, fire making and stop at a beautiful Chamorro village. The tour guide was well knowledged and made sure we had enough breaks in the shade. The whole team was very professional and made the experience enjoyable.

Great way to start 2021

Kayaking was extremely fun! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and professional. We enjoyed an excellent fiesta plate. The cabbage slaw was fantastic! I would highly recommend the kayak adventure, and plan to go again!

Great Jungle Exploration But Very Little Education

Jungle kayaking was quite a unique adventure! Overall, the experience was very friendly, fun, communal and great but I left with little to no education of Guam history or Chamorro culture. I expected to learn so much as I traversed the Talofof and Ugum Rivers based on the companies own website descriptions. There was NO "Latte Experience": no mention of basket weaving exhibitions, no fire starting demonstrations, no lesson on ancient Chamorro Culture. This certainly was a fun-filled few hours with an average lunch but I feel mislead on the expectations of this adventure. I can recommend the kayaking but I would not put this tour on your immediate or critical to-do list while on Guam.

Amazing Adventure

So glad we did the kayak adventure versus the boat. The trip was calm and relaxing. With a splash of water from the group here and there cooled us off. While on tour we ran into the ancient village, and saw a lot of land crabs, little river fish and an iguana. The sky was cloudy that blocked the sun’s rays for a bit, afterwards we stopped at the village, saw the hut, very old lattes and man the garden was manicured with plenty of beautiful flowers. With lunch served (make sure you remind them of an alternative meal besides bbq), we watershed a demonstration of starting a fire from literal from hibiscus and lowbiscus. We were given freshly weaved equipment and supplies made from coconut leaves. After we ran into locals taking out the guiladie canoe. This is a must do adventure. I recommend the kayak. This was a great end to our vacation.

Seize the Moment
Pickup was on time to our hotel

Once at the establishment there seemed to be some confusion. There was not a proper head count and that led to a shortage of two seater kayaks as well as life vest (which were very dirty). Mitigation- some ppl used paddle boards or one seater kayaks. Recommendation- conduct a headcount and deep clean or replace the life vest

Once in the water, no instructions were given and ppl seized the moment and started to paddle away, as the 3 guides continued to load ppl into their kayaks. Recommendation- give instructions before hand and have atleast one guide in the water for proper control.

The stop for lunch was educational and the food was good; pork rib, chicken, red rice, coleslaw, and a dessert. They also had water and tea. (Beer was for sale- $3)

Upon arrival back at the dock we were given a sample of shaved ice.

We have since implemented a system to assure that the first one in the water is one of our guides to make sure all guests our kept together. We have also reminded our guides to make sure proper kayaking and safety instructions are given to all guests prior to them entering the River. Guest safety and satisfaction is our top priority and we truly appreciate you sharing your experience and feedback. It means the world to us to assure all guests have a safe and enjoyable time.
