- Sjåføren må være 21 år eller eldre for å leie og må oppgi et vanlig kredittkort og gyldig førerkort ved innsjekking. Et førerkort må være i kundens fysiske besittelse (ingen fotokopi). For utenlandske kunder er en internasjonal lisens ikke nødvendig.
- Passasjerer må være 4 år eller eldre - og små barn må trygt passe inn i en av våre DOT-godkjente hjelmer. GoCar er registrert som motorsykkel - men det kreves ikke motorsykkelsertifikat for å betjene kjøretøyet.
- Alle leietakere må kunne lese, forstå og signere et ansvarsfrigjørings- og fraskrivelsesskjema (standard deltakeravtale)
- På leiedagen vil et sikkerhetsdepositum på 500 USD bli holdt på kundens kredittkort. Hvis en CDW- eller SLI-forsikringsplan er valgt, vil et depositum på $300 bli holdt. Sikkerhetsdepositumet frigis når GoCar returneres.
- For passasjerenes sikkerhet og komfort er maksimal høyde 6'4" (1,9 m) og maksimal kombinert vekt på 500 lbs (226,8 kg) for to passasjerer
- Kan du stoppe underveis? Ja, du setter ditt eget tempo.
- Må du bli på turen? Vi anbefaler å holde seg på ruten. Det er flere morsomme omveier inkludert i turen.
- Kjøretøy: Styres med et motorsykkelhåndtak, gass og håndbremser. De 3-hjulede bilene har plass til to og har låsbar bagasjerom til tingene dine. Deres lille størrelse gjør parkering til en lek, og i San Francisco - en stor bonus!
- Hvor fort går bilen? Opp til 35 mph. De fleste veiene på tur er boliger eller i parker, derfor kan en gjennomsnittshastighet på 30 mph eller mindre forventes under kjøring.
- Kan du krysse Golden Gate Bridge? Nei, men turen vil navigere deg til Fort Point. Her svever broen omtrent 200 fot over hodet ditt. Det er mulig å få fotgjengeradkomst til bruspennet fra parkeringsplassen ved bruutsiktspunktet.
- Hva er en CDW? Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) er en valgfri form for forsikring som ligner på leiebilforsikring som begrenser ditt ansvar i tilfelle en ulykke. Det er ikke-refunderbart. Hvis du velger å kjøpe CDW-en, er depositumet ditt for leid en GoCar kun USD 300,00 i stedet for USD 500,00

While I had a lot of fun on the GoCar tour, there are a few things that keep me from giving the whole experience a 5 out of 5.
The people checking you in and the person telling you about the route were not the friendliest. I understand they were probably a little overwhelmed with a lot of people checking in and what not, but good customer service is crucial especially during busy times.
As you're checking in you are informed of a $500 deposit hold that’s placed on your card if you do not wish to purchase insurance. I realized this deposit was not mentioned until after I booked and got my email confirmation… it was in the fine print that I am sure no one reads. This deposit is not mentioned anywhere on the website, but there is mention of an insurance sale for $26. As a consumer, this is a little deceiving.
FYI: The card you use for the deposit, is also the card they will charge if you go over on time. ($1 per minute you go over your tour time.)
Once you’re checked in, you watch a video to tell you how to use the carts and go over the rules and safety precautions, and when you're done you step outside where an instructor shows you again how to use the cart. The carts are like motorcycles, so you don't have to step on the brakes with your feet.
The carts have a full tank of gas and are equipped with a little navigation system that shows and tells you where you are going. Once you start the tour, it's all at your own pace. The navigation system tells you stories as you get to specific points on the tour and it's actually a nice little entertaining as you drive around.
The con of the navigation system: It will have ALL routes on it, not just your specific route.
Personally, I would have liked the navigation system to have the specific tour we paid for, because it’s easy to get lost with so many routes. Especially if you're assigned a specific car when you check in. I also noticed that if you end up on a street that’s not on the designated routes, the system will stop talking, so be aware of this little issue that may arise.
The tour itself is a fun little experience. You get to drive through various places you normally wouldn’t, and you get to park and walk around if you want to spend a little time in a specific area or take pictures if you’d like. I did a 3 hour tour, and I ended up needing more time! =)
I would recommend this tour, if you are looking for something fun to do for the day. Just be aware of the deposit, the price you pay if you go over your time, and the fact that the GPS system can get a little confusing since it has all the routes on it.

My third time in SF and I saw things on this tour and in a way I’ve never been able to do by renting a car or taking a big bus tour. The cars are relatively easy to maneuver, the “tour guide” gives great information as you go. Tip: wear sunscreen…it’s so breezy you won’t realize your are getting sunburn. Also have a phone with you with your own GPS in case you go off course you can find your way back! I would highly recommend, and I would do this in other cities as well

Trip Advisor hadn't sent the booking to the office so we had to wait an hour on the phone to get it sorted. The weather was miserable and the hire company did not have the option to hire a blanket or gloves. The directions were unclear and hard to hear, but if you turned up the volume, you got blasted when music played. Often you were told about something to look at as you went past it and did not have a chance to prepare for it or find some where to park. The car was dirty, both outside and in. I doubt they spray the helmets between customers either. And there was no extra information or assistance about road rules, etc for international drivers, we were just left to our own devices. There was no timer on the GPS so we had no idea how much time we had left of our purchased time period, which was none after we had gotten lost due to the poor directions.

We were in CA for a graduation and only had one day to explore San Francisco; this was perfect. We took advantage of the early bird special and got an extra hour free for booking right when they opened. It was not busy and we did not have to wait. We did have an issue with the sound, but we returned straight away to the office and they got us quickly in a new car. The GPS routes were easy to follow and we never were stuck in traffic or felt that we were not safe. We were amazed at the sights and loved being able to start and stop whenever we wanted. The GPS was perfect giving us directions and information about the sights. We did learn quickly to pause at a location when we wanted to hear more because if you drive past the location, the audio stops giving details about the location and starts giving you driving directions again.

It was nice to book an early tour to use the buggys around the city because it has lesser traffic, and you get a free hour!:) We went to the famous spots and it the GPS led the way! it was nice that the GPS has audio and can be loud enough that it will tell you which way to turn and with corresponding tips, facts and warnings. Wish I could bring my dog with us though. Overall very fun, a must, and perfect for those who dont have a car with them and has little time to tour the whole city! Just be careful with these motored ones because it can't reverse, you'll have to get out of the buggy and push it backwards, etc. They will prompt you with instructions and a handy map.

Great way to see places the tour buses do not get to. Very scary at first and driving on some busy roads, but the GPS works really well and many people took photos of us as they thought we were a novelty. Loved driving down Lombard Street.
Be aware these do not reverse so you have to get out and push/ pull.

My 7yr Daughter and I did this on our annual mother-daughter trip, it was our favorite activity. We were able to quickly see the city. It was also great because she quickly became tired walking all of San Francisco. Definitely a Great memory!

My husband and I enjoyed this self guided tour. It was unique and fun. We got to see the whole city in half of a day and return to our favorite sites for an extended visit on our own the next day. I would do this again with my older children on a future trip.

This made our holiday, best thing we did over the 10 days so much fun!! and a memory you will all have for life, worth every penny! and you see every landmark....and most importantly we can now all say we DROVE down Lombard Street.......
