Wonderful tour with Andy. He showed us a ton of places by and we enjoyed the history of all of them. Lunch was amazing. We loved the chicken fingers! Andy has a ton of history to share with you! Thanks. Andy

This Savannah private full day tour with Andy was wonderful. Andy made Savannah's past come alive and merge with the present. The tour was fun, informative, intriguing, fascinating, moving. Seeing the Bonaventure Cemetery was a poignant journey. It was also a treat to venture to the Fort Pulaski National Monument and Tybee Island light house and ocean pier. The sites and stories and the history and the art and the architectural and natural beauty shine as Andy weaves you through time in a knowledgeable and meaningful tribute. It was so relaxing as everything was taken care of and you can just soak in the experience. Andy makes you feel comfortable from the beginning. A marvelous and memorable day that I highly recommend!

It was a smooth day without any problems. Andy took great care of us and showed us more of Savannah than we would have ever managed on our own. He gave us just enough history to keep our interests piqued, but not overwhelm us. My wife and I had a great time and we would both recommend this to anyone visiting for the first time, or that are trying to crunch a lot into one day. We took the tour on our first full day and were able to spend the rest of our time revisiting the areas that we found most interesting.

My adult daughter and I had the best day with Andy on the all day VIP tour. We really got a thorough look at Savannah and it's eclectic history. We had lots of questions and he interacted with us helping us learn and appreciate history. I without hesitation would tell anyone to take this tour. It was a spectacular day.

Bill took my sister and me and an old friend all around Savannah in his very nice minivan. He was very knowledgeable. We wanted good southern food for lunch. He had a couple of recommendations. We went to Paula Deans. It was really good and the store was cute.
Bill was an excellent guide. He was gracious and kind. This tour suited us perfectly since we had some mobility issues. The Bonaventure cemetery was fascinating.

As a frequent visitor, I have been on Trolley Tours, Walking Tours, Ghost Tours, Underground/Off Beat Tours, etc., but have never come across a Tour like the Savannah VIP DTOUR, which encapsulates the best of the city and beyond in a single day.
The moment I spoke with Dan to discuss the logistics of this incredibly detailed tour, I knew I had made the right choice of Tour Company and when I met Bill, a Georgia native and my guide for the day, I knew I was going to have a memorable time.
Bill fetched me from my hotel in his comfortable vehicle and took me directly to Tybee Island, all the while relating the intricate history of Savannah. The scenic drive and the island itself- the town, the beach, the boardwalk, endless blue ocean, elegant and unique homes, lighthouse, etc. are beautiful and worth the visit. While we walked and drove around, Bill gave me unique insights about the place.
Later we headed to Fort Pulaski, an incredible structure, made as it were on "floating bricks"! The monument has retained much of it's originality including cannons, walls with cannon ball damage, officers' rooms and quarters, an infirmary and even a fig and pecan tree, grown to provide proper nutrition for the troops and tended to by the then lighthouse keeper who as Bill pointed, had etched his signature on a brick- a little known "graffiti," circa 1880!
After a leisurely drive through Bluff Drive with it's breathtaking views and stunning mansions, we toured Bonaventure Cemetery. Though I had visited in the past, no one had explained as Bill did, that there were 2 entrances- Jewish and Christian. I didn't know that Jewish mourners place stones on gravestones and that during the yellow fever epidemic a chord was tied from the finger of the deceased to a bell outside the grave, to alert passers by, in case the person was still alive! I was amazed to know that many large underground crypts exist, even one with it's own chapel! Bill highlighted the significance of the shape of graves, pointed to where the Bird Girl statue once stood and we stopped to remember poor little Gracie Watson.
After viewing Savannah's largest Chandler Oak Tree and a quick lunch, we headed to the glorious tree lined pathway of the Wormsloe Historic Site. As I took many photographs and we drove through the site, Bill told me its fascinating story.
After we returned to the city, we experienced Savannah's iconic squares, main churches and the Victorian district. The commentary and interesting tid bits provided by Bill unfolded the city's historic past and highlighted what lay in front of me.
When I was dropped back to my Hotel in the evening, I felt as if I had spent the day with a friend, who was not only a very knowledgeable and flexible guide, but who was also very patient and mindful of my requests (restroom breaks, the need to walk slowly, etc.). Post the tour, Bill even sent me recommendations of Historic Home Tours, Restaurants, Activities and Church Tours, that I could peruse during the rest of my stay.
If you choose one tour of Savannah, let this be the one. I promise you'll have no regrets.

Our tour guide was a very nice, personable gentlemen. He picked us up on time. While we gelled immediately, we were disappointed with his detailed knowledge of the history of Savannah.
The tour was suppose to include the lighthouse and Pułaski Fort. But the lighthouse is closed on Tuesday and the Fort was closed for plumbing repairs. dTours did not notify us in advance of this. Fort Jackson was substituted but time was wasted driving to the closed Lighthouse.
Our past experience with private tours when visiting a museum, the guide would have knowledge of the some of the highlights and speak to them. This did not occur.
If I were to book again, I would ask for a certified guide.
D Tours did refund me half of the $600 I paid for my wife and me.

As we mentioned when processing your partial refund, we're sorry we didn't meet your expectations. We strive to provide a positive and personal experience for our customers, but sometimes we miss the mark.
I do feel the need to clarify one point - if you read the tour description carefully, you will see that we do not include admission tickets to the Tybee Lighthouse because we can't guarantee it will be open. Most customers do enjoy seeing it from the exterior. I'm sorry you felt it was a waste of time.
As we are always striving to improve our business model, we do appreciate your honest feedback. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review.
