Following hotel pickups in Flagstaff, we met Jamie as our tour guide driver. He was very nice and made sure he had enough ice cold bottled water for everyone in the tour. This was great for us since it was very warm during the day. Hubby and I were seated in the very back of the van. Unfortunately, it was noisy, bumpy, his microphone wasn’t loud enough and we couldn’t really hear what he was narrating about. Our first stop was the Cameron Trading Post then we were off to the Horseshoe Bend. Amazing views! Next stop - to a very shortened lunch schedule. Sandwiches were ok, but the fries were great tho. Our tour guide (I don’t think he ever introduced himself) who drove us to the Antelope canyon was awesome and very knowledgeable. We learned some history about the canyon. He was also a great photographer and took great pictures for all of us in the tour. Antelope canyon was truly breathtaking. It was a very bumpy ride on the way to and from the canyon. Overall, the guides were very professional. My Hubby and I really enjoyed this amazing tour. Highly recommended!

The absolute most uncomfortable van ride ever. Our guide was okay but hard to hear. I felt rushed all day except at Antelope Canyon which is with a Navajo company which was awesome. 15 minute stop for restroom and shopping. 15 minutes at an overlook. Crappy lunch.
Drive yourself. Use your own gas. Pay the admission fee at each place. Enjoy the day at your own pace.

This was an excellent tour with Al as our guide (BTW that's A-L not A-I - ha!). Great communication about pick-up, drop-off, time at stops, etc. We booked it mostly to see Antelope Canyon - which is amazing - but were equally in awe of Horseshoe Bend. Appreciated that we had lots of time to explore. Our Navajo guide, Bernice, at the canyon was fantastic. Highly recommend this tour!

Great trip and wonderful guides - Antelope canyon was spectacular and the guides do a good job spacing out between the groups so there is some privacy

Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon are simply stunning places to visit. Our guide Steve drove us from our hotel to a moderately authentic trading post and to lunch and he also drove us to Horseshoe Bend. While understanding that this is a narrated tour, I do feel that a bit of his coverage was just mundane chatter. I would have liked to have learned more about Navajo Nation and the people who live there. Steve was polite and friendly and gave good sightseeing advice.
Steve took us to a truck stop where we met Nate, our guide for the Antelope Canyon tour. Antelope Canyon is a magnificent wonder of nature. Nate was friendly and eager to please and knew where to stand to get the best photographic shots. Much of the tour was spent with Nate collecting the ten cameras from people on the tour and doing the photos for everyone. This got to be cumbersome and took away from the experience slightly because after ten- fifteen steps or so of walking and marveling, it was time to play musical cameras again. But Nate took great pictures and everyone was happy with them. I would suggest more walking and less stopping however so we can truly take in the wonder of the canyon and be present- not just have fantastic Instagram pics.
Steve drove us back to our hotels after Nate completed the tour of Antelope Canyon. They were both good guides who were eager to please. Something that bothered me was that when we booked the tour it was stated that the groups were smaller and masks were required because of Covid. Many native reservations stated they were not medically equipped to manage Covid in their communities and outbreaks could be devestating for them. We saw a lot of postings and articles about this everywhere. A lot of things were closed for long periods of time on the reservation as a result. But ultimately the Native American communities opened back up to tourism because of financial need after lengthy closures. Tourism is a significant source of income for the tribes. Steve was unmasked and there were only three empty seats in the tour van. This wasn’t as many as I expected. At close to $500 a couple, I think a few less people so we could have been spaced out a bit more would not have broken the bank. In addition to this, Steve did not enforce the wearing of masks as was advertised which I found to be extremely disrespectful to the people whose land we were visiting and they had plainly stated the reasoning of not being equipped to deal with Covid in terms of availability and distance of medical facilities. I was disappointed in my fellow group members and guide in this regard. It was flagrantly disrespectful to fellow tour members and to the Navajo Nation.

Our guide, Kat, was nothing short of spectacular. She was a wealth of knowledge that ranged from ancient culture to physics. I had an outstanding adventure!

Horseshoe Bend/Antelope Canyon small group tour. Extraordinary and well executed. Kristin with Arizona Travel Adventure… WOW… thank you for sharing from your huge internal data base of the area. From rock formations, chemical make up to evolution process, fauna and American Indian tribes. Everything we could possibly need to know to visit this area. You are a treat Kristin!
Next we had Jake as Antelope Canyon is on Navajo reservation. He skillfully four wheeled us out over rough terrain to the gorgeous slot canyon. He knew how to help everyone set their phones and cameras to get the best pictures to capture this magical spot. Thank you Jake such patience and kindness.
Wonderful lunch was provided… Kristin had that all in order.
Would recommend this day trip to everyone. Five star.

Matt our driver and tour guide was AOK and David our Antelope Canyon X guide was awesome. However, the Canyon experience was a bit disappointing. We were not told until the call to confirm out pick up time that we were not going to Upper Antelope Canyon. We were going to Antelope Canyon X because the Upper Canyon was closed due to COVID,
We were also told the Canyon X was better than upper. Well, both at present not quite true.
1. The upper Canyon was open, as we saw the starting entrance and with a lot full of cars and the Jeep’s were full as they headed to the Canyon, and
2. Canyon X, while pretty, is no where close to the beauty and specular lighting as the Upper Antelope Canyon.
I had visited the Upper Canyon 5 years ago and wanted hubs to see it. That did not happen.
This tour’s ad showed pictures from Upper Canyon, which we did not see. If you want to see the slot Canyon that is in all the pictures; make certain your tour is going to Upper Antelope Canyon!

Both locations were amazing. We especially loved spectacular Antelope Canyon. God’s handiwork is on full display. Thank you to Gabriel who took beautiful pictures of us and who was so helpful in getting me back up the stairs.
That said, maybe I missed something in the description of the tour, or it’s just understood, but I thought the trails were difficult. In all fairness, I’m 71 years old and am not in the best physical condition but I do get around just fine. Coupled with the heat and the altitude, there were some times I had to stop and catch my breath and needed some help finishing to the top of the stairs.
The ride in the tour bus wasn’t that pleasant either. The air conditioning didn’t work well, it was noisy and felt like the driver hit every bump in the road coming and going. One of the reasons we like to take tours is so we can learn more about the area but our driver gave us a 30-minute talk on the active volcanoes and then put a tape in of local music. It was fine, tho, because we couldn’t hear her in the back of the van anyway. It’s a long drive from Flagstaff.
I would highly recommend seeing Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon. I’m thankful we did the trip but had I known how strenuous it would be, we might have looked for a different way to go.

Will this tour to Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend from Flagstaff take place in May, around May 24? I heard that the Antelope Canyon has been closed for a while.

How long is the hiking portion, and how difficult?
Skrevet 17. januar 2020
Horseshoe Bend is about a half mile, but uphill coming back. Can take it slow and be ok, just take water.
Antelope Canyon was really short, flat, slow pace. Easy for anyone.
