This was such a lovely place to visit, we often spent a day here wandering around, watching the otters and the deer, a most fabulous place and such a loss. What a shame.

What a lovely little place. We had a fantastic day out at Tamar Otter and wildlife centre. The Otters are adorable, and we fell in love with the little injured muntjacs deer. It was beautifully kept and clean. The Bird of Prey talk was also very interesting. We didn't use the cafe but it looked as though there were some lovely things on offer.

Absolutely lovely place. Despite the rain we had the best day, my 2 sons (aged 10 and 7) loved it and want to go every day from now on! You can get right up close to the otters and the woodland walk is MAGICAL ✨.

This is a wonderful place. If you're anywhere near Launceston then this should be top of your list of attractions. Beautiful location, brilliant character and plenty of animals. The otters are funny and friendly; same can be said of the staff! We were unlucky not to have a chance at feeding the deer, but there was so much to explore here and so many animals to see we were delighted with our visit. The cafe, as expected, is a little pricey, but the pasties are worth it! Bring walking shoes, sometimes the woodland areas get muddy and you might just run in to a strolling peacock. Definitely a family friendly environment, and a great place to forget about scrolling through your notifications... signal here is non-existent. (Which is great... the otters are too funny to miss!)

Talk about Birds of Prey was very very interesting and informative. Well worth the visit in these difficult times.
The feeding time for the Otters was good as well.

Spent an absolutely amazing few hours today at this incredible place. Refreshingly uncommercialised and great to be able to get so close to all the wildlife but in particular the otters. I would highly recommend a visit for unforgettable memories. Thank you.

We had an amazing time wondering round the Tamar otter centre, it was very clearly laid out as to where you can go (COVID 19) the lady on reception was very welcoming and explained what was happening and at what time.
Had a lovely walk through the woods and the Wallabies are very friendly, certainly not bothered by someone trying out a new camera 😂
I would agree with what they say on the website if the weather is wet wear an old pair of shoes or bring your wellies
Would definitely call back if in the area

Having visited here when I was younger I was keen to visit here again with my young family.
Reasonable cost to get in, less than £20 fo a family of three. There is a one way system in place and due to this we barely saw anybody else whilst walking though the wooded area. Lots of animals to see including free roaming wallabies, peacocks and deer as well as four meerkats, birds of prey and otters.
We spent a very pleasant couple of hours wandering around here, it was muddy underfoot but nothing a pair of wellies couldn't handle.
Overall we throughly enjoyed our trip and will certainly return next time we are in the area.

We decided to visit here on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. The otter feeding was quite amusing - they are so loud! The animals are obviously well cared for however, the size of some of the enclosures seemed very small, especially for the larger birds. We visited after a lot of rain so it was quite muddy but we would say that wellies/good walking shoes are a must either way. The woodland walk was nice - we enjoyed seeing the deer - there were some very steep slopes so would say it may not be suited for wheelchairs.

Looking to visit while on way home to Sussex but will have expensive paddle board on the car roof. Is there any secure storage or is parking monitored?

It’s a small car park unmanned but I’d be surprised if you were robbed. It’s literally the middle of nowhere.

Is it wheelchair friendly

I would say parts of it are and there are accessible toilets.
However the woodland trail is in parts quite hilly and rough under so in my opinion that would be hard work for a wheelchair user.
Some of the enclosures may have restricted views as a wheelchair user I cannot remember fully.
I would suggest to ring the centre as they are very helpful. Hope this helps.
Would it be suitable for a woman who is 8 months pregnant. Able to walk but not too far. Is it quite compact or spread out. Can you see everything without walking too far?
Thanks

Hi, sorry for delay in response. I would say a good deal of the otter section is easily seen with very little walking. there is a woodland area where you can feed deer etc. which requires a little more walking but my 77 y ear old mother did it and she has poor mobility. lots of benches to pause at

I wouldn’t think so as there are wallabies with young joes and deer that are free range.

We had a lovely day at the otter sanctuary. But I felt sad for the meerkats. Only 2 of them and no sand for them to burrow in. No heat lamps either like I've seen at other zoos. What shelter is there for them? Can staff tell me please?
