What an Airshow! Probably the best Cosford I’ve attended. Fantastic displays, fantastic food. The Red Arrows are worth visiting for alone!

An amazing museum to visit for even for those who only have a slight interest in the history of the RAF. The staff are amazingly enthusiastic in answering questions and you get get impression that when asking a question you were the first to ask - this cannot be true. Further, the detail of information these guys have is totally creditable.
Having looked at come comments re catering I would remind those critical of the facilities that they had visited a superb aircraft museum facility not a starred restaurant.
Have visited twice now but there will be more attendances.

We went as two adults and two children (10 and 3) and had a brilliant time. The show was fabulous even if you’re not massively into planes, and at £30 per adult, free for kids and free parking I felt it was good value for a full day. We took our own food which meant we didn’t have to spend a penny once there. We took camping seats and set up camp behind our car on the grass - many others did the same but others set up closer to the runway, which we thought looked quite crowded.
The various other things to do were excellent and free, however bear in mind that the site is huge so it can be a trek to see it all. Also - bring ear defenders for small kids as the louder planes can scare them!
I have read some reviews that said that getting in and out was a problem, but I felt the exact opposite - it was remarkably easy to get in and out, we barely queued at all getting in and not at all getting out. Military staff were directing much of the traffic and it was really well organised. A huge amount of people left after the Red Arrows display, so I suspect that if we’d left then it’d have been an issue but there were plenty more displays to see after they’d finished.

This show ( our first Cosford attendance) was so well organised with superb displays by individual pilots as well as team displays. Impressive organisation that clearly involves a lot of hard work. We were fortunate enough to be in the Cosford Club area and the RAF personnel were absolutely fantastic and engaging. Traffic seemed to flow well although we walked. Everything including weather was brilliant and we hope to return next year.

I haven't been to the Cosford Air Show for many years but have visited the Blackpool and Southport air shows. We set off early from Manchester to ensure we could park on the base, hopefully where we could watch from the car if it rained. Entry onto the base went smoothly with good traffic management and signage. The show was brilliant especially the red arrows. Ground displays added extra interest. The weather was better than expected. One thing I would like to praise is the cleanliness of the toilets. Staff were cleaning them frequently and replenishing supplies. They were so much better than what I've experienced at other similar events. We stayed behind after the show ended to let the traffic ease. It paid off because we hot out within 15 minutes. A great day and we will return next year.

A good airshow however there wasent a huge amount of display. Parking a bit of a nightmare. The fairground music was very loud. There were far too many people at the small airfield and was very crowded.

The RAF Cosford airshow, is the only national airshow in the Uk that is organised and run by the RAF themselves, and it certainly shows.
This was my first trip to this great event, and its best to go by coach, because we were allowed to use the private entrance used by the military, so we avoided any unnecessary queue with the huge influx of motorists.
The weather was very kind, especially considering the rest of the locality around the airbase received a real soaking from the rain, whilst apart from a minute of lite rain, it remained dry and fairly sunny all afternoon.
Apart from the air display itself, which ran perfectly to time, with a commentary provided by every attending displays personell, there was so much to see and so little time to fit it all in.
One thing i did notice, was how polite and spotlessly clean the entire airbase looked, considering there were close to 60,000 people in attendance.
The toilets were some of the cleanest ive ever had the pleasure to use, and unlike some previous reviews of past air displays, food and beverage was not over priced.
Even though security was always present, with military police walking around, nowhere was off limits, and a real highlight was seeing a Nazi V2 rocket up close.
If i had had more time, i would also have sat inside a Spitfire, but with so many artifacts and air craft hangars to look around, there simply was not enough time to see everything.
The organisation and whole visitor experience was very impressive, and i will definately be back next year.
There was so much to see and do, including a visit to the amazing indoor museum, that the entrance fee of £30 represented good value.

I have been attending RAF Cosford Airshow for 5 years now. I enjoy seeing the aircraft perform and also talking serving personnel. Over the years the constants have been the understated excellence of the RAF Red Arrows and the appalling traffic management systems that result in long queues at whatever time of day you arrive. This year was no exception. Seventy-five minutes to travel from mid-Wales to Cosford perimeter and 50 minutes to travel the last 500 metres. This was at 06:15 in the morning with a special pass and special access. I can only wonder what was happening for ordinary folk. Lots of friendly waves from staff enjoying the early morning sunshine but seemingly little or no direction from those in charge. It does takes the shine off the show and probably contributes to the massive post Red Arrows exit mid-afternoon as folk attempt to beat the exit chaos. [The Red Arrows were excellent by the way.] A worthwhile day out but do take ear defenders as the temporary noise from the aircraft can be painful and the sustained blathering from the loudspeaker system (11:00 onwards) does make conversation difficult and still has my ears ringing 36 hours after the event.

The gate opening time is shown as 08:00 do the car parks open earlier prior to gate opening time like they do at RIAT or are they one and the same?

The gates lead you to the car park area which is where you can watch the display from if you wish. The museum food traders and the stalls are away from the car parks but not too much of a walk
Hi I am just woundering I went to the show this year and saw people with tents Is there any size or is there size resitictions

Check the website for next years rules but I don’t think they are supposed to be allowed due to getting in the way and causing a risk to the planes.
Exhibitors who pre booked were allowed to camp overnight as they had to be set up the day before
I would love a recommendation for hotels with easy access to trains so that we do not have to rent a car. Thank you
