Having been to the Sculpture Park a few days previously this is a good contrast. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful as it's strictly limited entry by pre booking. BBC Gardening magazine 2 for 1 works here. Parking very limited. You can follow the trail or wander and it's mainly on grass or gravel, narrow paths through shrubs. Nowhere to hide if it rains - which it did torrentially. A toilet in the middle, in a small house. Few places to sit.

Each sculpture is itemised in the booklet, along with price - some may have been sold already. Some are very clever, some too modern for our tastes.

Spent a wonderful few hours in these tranquil gardens, some very interesting pieces of art, shame all out of my price range. Warm and helpful greeting, we took advantage of the 2:1 gardeners world offer. Helpful map provided to make sure you see everything. We are quite disorganised and didn’t bring any refreshments, assumed there may be something there but there wasn’t from what we saw.
Have been to the Farnham Sculpture Park before - whilst there are many more sculptures there, several were broken and we much preferred the smaller, natural and more tranquil experience at Hannah Peschar

I had a fabulous time, beautiful pieces of sculpture in many different mediums and styles, that are sympathetically arranged in a lush wooded area with ponds and water features. A knowledgeable and enthusiastic lady was on shift at reception, to welcome visitors and give out guides with an easy to understand map. There is a loo. Picnic tables and chairs are near reception and the arrival area if you want to bring something to eat/drink. Booking is via their website and was only £12.50 for an adult. This sculpture garden has changing exhibits and of course will have a different appearance according to the season. I will definitely return in other seasons to appreciate this amazing park.

We spent a good couple of hours at this sculpture park. Some of the exhibits are beautiful but some are really quite bizarre . It specialises more in modern art than quirky or amusing exhibits which I prefer. The grounds are stunning and some of the plants are just as impressive as the sculptures. It's easy to find your way around as you are given a booklet listing the exhibits in order and directions on which way to go. The booklet also gives prices should you wish to purchase any. You do have to book your visit, and they only allow a certain number of entrants for each time slot, so you are never surrounded by lots of other visitors when you want to take photos. It's a shame they don't have a cafe on site, but we were prepared with a packed lunch. There is limited seating on the grass by the car park for this.

Having heard about this sculpture garden some time ago, we took advantage of the long Bank Holiday weekend to visit. It's quite off the beaten track, thankfully we had satnav assistance to find it. The sculptures are set amidst a beautifully wooded landscape - mostly good paths underfoot but a couple of places were a little muddy and you needed to keep an eye open for tree roots along the way. Most of the sculptures were modern in style, a couple classical. We had a detailed route guide from the reception which meant we missed nothing The sculpture in the picture - hundreds of bike bells on metal stalks - was one of our favourites. Well worth a visit, the only downside was the lack of any kind of refreshment on sale, even a vending machine would have been welcome so come prepared with food and drink, especially in the hotter weather - you are allowed to eat in the grassy car park area or by the reception building, I believe.

We visited here in late September and was pleasantly the plants hadn't quite shut down. The garden was filled with modern sculptures if varying sizes, upon entry we were given a booklet with descriptions of each of the sculptures, and the prices, If you want to buy one come with a very full wallet! Overall it was an enjoyable afternoon out, I think we will return in the summer.

Getting here: Apple sat nav was put in per the address and postcode on the website and away I went and then it said ‘you’ve arrived’ and I appeared to be at someone’s farm house (I was coming from Dorking) the actually gardens were c400 metres farther on with a green sign (see photo with green sign)

Car park: nice and wide and on grass (see photo) with the covered picnic area next to it. You get prepaid timed slots so the gardens aren’t busy.

Reception: there’s a small sign for reception and you walk up and check in and pick up the guide. The gardens are sign posted.

Footpaths: these are a bit overgrown and the ponds had algae. I wore trainers so it was ok underfoot.

Time: I took an hour and then had my flask of coffee at the picnic area. Thanks to the earlier poster who mentioned this. I don’t see why they don’t let someone set up a small tea/coffee area (I run in Surrey and some young enterprising individual has set up a coffee stall in a field with hay bales as seats so it can be done) - it doesn’t turn places in to ‘Disneyland’ - there’s nothing better than sitting having a coffee in a lovely garden and admiring the sculptures

Other points: there was plenty of seating throughout the gardens which was great.

Toilets: I found the posh toilet in the design studio so that was really nice (see photo)

Nice afternoon out

there are so many tracks and footpaths through the woods, ponds and streams, but you are provided with a map to find your way around. Some of the sculptures are breathtaking, some quirky, some just downright strange , it all depends on your taste. The environment varies from typical English woodlands to sub tropical swamp and jungle - some absolutely amazing landscape gardening. We were warned by relatives who live in Surrey to bring sandwiches and a flask of tea, as there is no cafe. I would think a nice tea room would be a bonus to an otherwise magical attraction.

It is hard to decide whether this is more of a garden or a collection of 100 carefully-curated pieces of sculpture within a garden.

It is quite difficult to find, with no brown tourist signs on the surrounding roads directing you to it, and easy to miss with only a small green sign indicating the entrance. The gravel drive winds through a garden half-hiding several large sculptures. The car park is small and the only hint of any catering is a small collection of garden tables and a gazebo, sheltering under a massive oak, next to the car park. Reception is a gallery-like space in a wooden garden building half-hid by more stunning planting. If after a long drive you need the facilities you are directed to the design studio, tucked behind the owners' home, where the single toilet is available.

On arrival you are lent a booklet of colour images of the sculpture accompanied by a map of the site. Narrow paths take you through a varied landscape (wood-scape?), hilly in places, slippery in some, of informal planting (dominated when we visited by wonderful specimens of giant hogweed and gunnera) and puntuated by the sculptures, some prominently displayed, some half-hidden.

The day we visited rain was forecast, and to the credit of the Met Office it duly arrived, soft and gentle and warm, adding to the overall lushness. One or two of the visitors we met on our way around complained about the rain, but I felt that it only enhanced the woods, the gardens and the sculptures. (And yes, we did get wet, in spite of waterproofs.) It would have been magical in any weather.

We were there for nearly 4 hours. I wfell in love with one piece and, after visiting it several times and having an imaginary conversation with my bank manager, bought the only piece of artwork I have ever owned! That probably says it all.

Trip Advisor suggests that reviewers comment on a number of features of an attraction, but I found it very difficult because none of them really fit. So here is one visitor's commentary:
1) Would you go with a group of 5 or more? It would be difficult, as many of the paths are narrow and some are steep, and many of the sculptures are tucked away in small spaces among the plants.
2) Would you go on your honeymoon? The gardens are a magical place, full of hidden surprises. Who wouldn't?
3) Is it budget-friendly? Apart from the admission charge (average for similar attractions) there is nothing to spend money on during your visit--unless you choose a buy a piece of the sculpture on display!
4) Is it exciting, unusual or risky? It depends on how you define these terms, but it certainly engages most of your senses. There is a stream running through the gardens, crossed in several spots by wooden bridges which you are invited to use "at your own risk", and a number of ponds. Possibly not toddler-friendly.
5) Is it a good picnic spot? There are a few tables next to the car park, and a few "designated picnic spots" (although we did not see any signs indicating where they were).
6) Is it a romantic place or a good activity for couples? It is a good activity for anyone, of any age, in any combination. It is entrancing, engaging, always surprising--does that make it a romantic place?
