Lovely visit, boat is really impressive. Lots of things to entertain the kids whilst we tried to learn about the station (leaflets, badges, colouring, stickers). Volunteer was friendly and very knowledgeable. We probably stayed about 20 mins but could have stayed longer without the kids. Would absolutely come back.

Nice 176 metre walk (apparently) along the pier.
Impressive looking boat (and it’s baby boat).
Informative notices etc to fill you in on its history, plus that of some of the previous coxswains etc.
An informative chat with a “lovely old boy” who was on duty. (Are you allowed to say that these days?).

Always good to learn about or be reminded of real heroes (not overpaid sporting prima-donnas who are frequently and wrongly labelled as heroes).

Overall a great advertisement for the RNLI and its work.

We were shown around both life boat houses by the lovely Deborah, the lifeboat visitors officer. She answered all the questions poisted. Very well worth it.

What a find, take a stroll out to see the centre, a lot to see and read with friendly staff open to answer questions. Free colouring for kids to take away.

Thanks for your comments on your recent visit to Bembridge RNLI. We are always pleased when visitors take the time to submit a revue. Our volunteer team in the Boathouse and the Shop much appreciate your positive comments but are a bit disappointed that you did not feel we warranted an 'excellent'. For anyone reading this review, please be aware that the Offshore Boathouse is open daily 2pm - 4pm - last visitors should be there by 3.45pm. Our Shop is also open daily 2pm to 4pm. Opening hours are extended to 11am - 4pm over the summer half term. We are now able to welcome visitors to watch our Tuesday evening training launches; however please note that its not every Tuesday (keep an eye on our Facebook page or website) and are subject to operational priorities on the day. Stay safe everyone and don't forget to 'Respect the Water' and 'Float to Survive' in the event of you finding yourself unexpectedly falling into cold water.

Fascinating walk around the Bembridge Lifeboat Station where a volunteer shared their impressive knowledge. Great to see the lifeboat up close and learn about the history of both the station and the RNLI. Nice walk across the walkway out to sea to the station too!

All available for a small donation.

Highly recommend a brief visit.

You cannot help be impressed that Bembridge can raise 24 crew members for their two lifeboats. The new boathouse has a Tamar lifeboat at the top of its slipway ready for volunteers to risk their own lives to save others at sea. I am always humbled by the dedication that RNLI crews provide.

We had a very interesting chat with the person on duty that day and there is a good history of Bembridge lifeboats on display.

We often like to visit the Lifeboat shop at Bembridge when we are on the IOW. The volunteers in the shop and down at the actual lifeboat station are always very friendly and knowledgable. There’s always something new in the shop and learning about the workings of the lifeboat and some of the rescues they carry out is always interesting.

We most recently visited last week and once again it was a very enjoyable visit with good clear views across the Solent. We will definitely return.

Many thanks indeed for your 'excellent' report on your recent visit to Bembridge RNLI. Notwithstanding that it was obviously not your first visit, it is nevertheless always re-assuring to know that you found something new in the shop and a close up look at our All-Weather Tamar Lifeboat, RNLB Alfred Albert Williams, was as interesting as always. For anyone reading this review, please be aware that as of 1st November, our Shop and the Offshore Boathouse will be open 2pm - 4pm weekdays and 11am - 4pm weekends. In both cases last visitors to the Offshore Boathouse should be there by 3.40pm. For the time being Masks are required in the Shop and when in the Offshore Boathouse.

Thank you for your review. Clearly Covid-19 restrictions have affected our ability to be open to the public, however for those reading this response, please be aware that our shop is now open from 11am to 4pm daily and our Offshore Boathouse from 11am to 3.30pm daily. I am afraid that although training launches on a Tuesday evening (7pm) still take place (but note not every Tuesday), these have to be viewed from the shore as we still are not allowed visitors in the Boathouse when the boat is launched. We look forward to welcoming you back to have a look at RNLB Alfred Albert Williams, our Tamar Class All-Weather Lifeboat. Finally, please don't forget to always "Respect the Water". If you find yourself unexpectedly in cold water, fight your instinct to swim and just float for the first three quarters of a minute. For more information please visit the RNLI "Respect the Water" website. Mike Samuelson (Lifeboat Press Officer, Bembridge RNLI)

Fantastic views from the boathouse, both out to sea and looking back to Bembridge. Lovely volunteers at the shop and boathouse (please leave a donation)! Just a little further on at the Duver, you can get great coffee at the little hut.
