I stayed at the Hilton and this place is a ghost town. I went for a walk around about 9am on Monday morning and thought the golf course had been abandoned. The club house appears derelict and there was no one on the course. As I left at about 12 I did see some people on the course so assume it was open - or they were just playing a closed course.

Can’t say anything about the golf course as we don’t play but as a place to chill out and spend quality time with friends it’s great . Lots of good places to eat on the resort . Lovely pools and everywhere is well maintained .

This could be a very good course. Lots if traps. But it is not in good condition and tbh I would avoid.
Fairways are barren. Greens and fairways need watering
It’s obvious that the greenkeeper either is not allowed to spend money on water, or is just not very good.
Met a member who says the members are paying €2000 plus €10 a round and have written to the club given the poor conditions

I went with 3 friends to La Torre in early November. The weather was excellent, and the bars and restaurants on site were both busy and good value for money.
I would recommend La Torre for golfers ( which we were ) and also families or couples. if you feel the need to explore, then a trip to either the city of Murcia, or Los Alcazares would be an excellent way to spend a day or a night out.

Spent a week in the resort it was amazing, we relaxed so much !! It’s quiet and away from the chaotic cities but close enough to the beaches and Murcia centre approx 20 mins drive.
Yes you would need a car or a bike to move outside the resort.
We enjoyed the Villa which was two mins walk from the pool 😀!! The centre of the resort has got everything you need if you want to spend time in the resort. We don’t play golf but we still enjoyed all the surroundings !! We will be back again for sure 👌

Our experience at the restaurant was highly disappointing due to a combination of poor service, long wait times, and subpar food quality. Initially, I ordered the half breakfast, which was adequate, while my pregnant friend, who was feeling unwell (a fact we conveyed to our server), ordered a bacon and egg sandwich with both ingredients well done and the egg fully cooked. Unfortunately, the order was mishandled multiple times.
When the sandwich first arrived, the bacon was undercooked, far from the well-done specification, so we had to send it back. The second attempt was even worse, with the sandwich arriving covered in runny egg, which my friend could not eat. In a genuine effort to keep the peace, my friend attempted to eat it but ultimately had to send it back again. We waited an additional 25 to 35 minutes, and while the third sandwich was prepared correctly, my friend had already lost her appetite after being at the restaurant for over an hour.
Upon receiving the bill, we were surprised to see we were still charged for the sandwich. Given the service we had received and the time taken to correct the order, my friend politely requested that the charge be removed. Unfortunately, the server, whom we believe was named Alina, responded rudely, stating, “I should’ve charged you three times. My chef had to make this three times,” before slamming the bill on the counter and walking away.
One of the younger staff members, who had facial piercings, provided excellent service and actually apologized for Alina’s behavior, which highlights just how rude Alina was. If a fellow staff member feels the need to apologize on her behalf, it speaks volumes about the lack of professionalism we encountered.
Given this experience, we would not recommend this establishment. We encourage future customers to consider other dining options, as the overall experience at this restaurant was the most disappointing within the resort.

Speaking to others who had played this course before us the same week we weren’t expecting great things.
You drive through a beautiful location full of lovely looking houses and apartments. You arrive to what used to be the clubhouse, but they do have a bar and restaurant open over looking the driving range and lake by the 9th green.
The signing in area is by the 1st tee and is a small hut, the people who signed us in were lovely and knowledgeable on they course.
The course was ‘only’ approx 5,500 yards off of the yellow tees but what it lacks in distance it makes up for in sand traps!!!!
These are strategically placed in all of the areas you would expect them for run-off zones from your drives and 2nd shots. They are playable and then it becomes risk/reward shots.
We were told to expect greens full of pitch marks and of not great condition but when we were there (27th Sept 24) but in our experience they were as good as perfect as we could’ve asked for. We didn’t find any excessive pitch marks and the greens ran true and fast.
It is a standard, basic course but it is fun, tough and challenging. Just stay out of the sand!!!

I visited La Torre Golf & Spa Resort, staying at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel from the 2nd to 8th September, and viewed four villas, and two townhouses for sale, but found them all too small, not enough garden, and too close to other neighbours, you could hear them all talking etc....biggest problem was the flies, they were everywhere, I couldn`t eat my meals at the pool bar, and had to eat them in my room. If you went for a walk around the site, the flies would constantly attack you, in your ears, in your nose etc......terrible.....golfers were also complaining that they were also attacked by sand flies when playing a round, which caused sores to their legs. This resort is now eighteen years old, and is run down, saw see lots of people walking dogs, and not picking up the dogs mess. the Irish Pub is still closed down, and there is a terrible stink coming from the lake, the walkway around the pub is now blocked off, as it is considered to be too dangerous for anyone to walk on the decaying wooden walkway. There is nothing to do at nighttime, no jazz bar, or piano bar in the Hotel, no disco nearby, and no clubhouse on site. People are deserting the La Torre site, and buying and renting at El Valle Golf Resort five miles down the road. Which is more modern, better properties, more action, and people, with a lovely clubhouse to meet in. It will cost too much money to bring the La Torre site back to it`s former glory, so it will just continue to go down hill, and get worse, and worse.

Hi,
After reading some reviews I thought I would share my thoughts as an owner on the resort and tackle some of the critism. First of all this is a golf resort which provides homes for residents from the UK, europe and Spanish, it is no Benidorm. I understand the posts from 2022 and 2023 regarding the facilities and the litter in the main lake, Remember 2022 was the back of covid and this year the lake has been totally cleaned and refilled with water and is looking splendid, Our son and his family have been this August and in the summer months there is a lot more going on in the main square for the Summer holiday season, however most of the year it is visted by large groups of golf societys from around europe as it is a golf resort. Many new resturanuts have opened since 2023 although Olearys has unfortunetly closed, Resturants in the square as follows, The italian, Fish n Chips who serve a splendid breakfast, the indians, the blue colour, a new chinese, Sophia's and the shack snack bar which does Buritto's, burgers and Kebabs, at Roldan there are resturauts, bars and Cafe's depending where you are renting on La Torre that can be either a 20 minute walk if your near the back gate or 45 minutes from the front gate, but it is flat and walking is good for you and enjoyable with the sun on your back, If you want to visit the wonderful beaches they are a 20 minute drive but Roldan has a taxi service and its cheaper than renting a car. I would desribe La torre a holiday break for people who like to relax around a pool, play sports like Tennis or paddle or play golf most of all its a very safe place to visit.

I have rented air b n bs in this golf resort for the last two years going 2/3 times a year. I am a mum with two children (4&6). I am so surprised by the poor reviews that I felt the need to write one.
I do agree you need a car, we always hire from Ok mobility for a very affordable price direct at the airport.
The resort itself is lovely, 20 different pools, shade, baby pools, big pools, clean, tidy and lots of children's play parks.
I do agree no sun loungers by the pool can be annoying that said, most air b n bs have them and I think it stops people from around the area just turning up.
There's a spar onsite making it easy to get food. There's lovely restaurants in the little square, nice atmosphere and beautiful golf course to walk around.
The area is safe for a mum on her own with children and everything here to keep you happy for a few days but more than 3/4 days you would want a car to explore.
Lots around within a 20 min drive. Water parks, zoos, culture, boat trips, beach and more. Never bothered me to drive to places as I would at home.
We will be back again in August.

Are sun loungers and parasols provided around the pools? Or do you have to bring your own?
Does anyone know if you can use facilities at the Hilton Doubletree, like the hotel bar/restaurant and maybe even pool?
Is it easy to flag a taxi or do you have to call and arrange one? I don’t think they have Uber in Murcia. I can drive, but I’m not comfortable driving in a foreign countries and I’d also like to be able to enjoy a couple of drinks as and when I please as I’m on holiday.

You have to provide your own sunloungers. There are shaded covered areas so u dont need parasols. Not sure about the Hilton, think u have to pay a daily charge. Plenty of pools to choose from though but no inflatables are allowed in pool. Quite strict on that. Taxis are easy to get hold off as well as a bus service. Great place to stay.

Yes there is free wifi in the apartments and English TV channels,if the owner is upto date with their community fees.
If there are wrist bands for the pools,this usually means the fees are being paid.
Also free internal phone calls to other owners and the bars and restaurants and golf shop.

Is there any public transport that one could you use to go into nearby town/village/coast? And also out of interest how much would it be to rent an apartment for a week ?

No public transport - taxi if needed, but a car is essential if you are staying a couple of weeks.
Prices vary a lot dependant upon type of property you want to rent, from an apartment up to a 4 bed detached with pool - check website.

Transport can be arranged where you stay, we were staying at the Mar Manor Residencies, very nice and with flight £400 each for 3 nights golf included.
