What a fabulous find , Sarah is Baking at Brackley Antiques , we arrived to a fairly busy cafe , served quickly by friendly staff . We had a lovely ploughman's and my friend had a pea and asparagus tart ... delicious . Oh and they now have Barista coffee so we washed it down with two well made lattes ...we will be back

Visited Brackley Antiques and had an amazing lunch in the Tearoom. It’s been recently taken over by Sarah is Baking and wow. I had a delicious panini and homemade cake. Excellent service and amazing food. Highly recommend a weekly visit!

My daughter and I visited Brackley Antiques for what we hoped wd be a pleasant expedition. First we tried to get a cup of coffee in the Restaurant, but the two assistants were too busy chatting to each other to serve us! We then tried to pay for our respective purchases. The first assistant walked away from me while I was still speaking to her and handing her the money. So I had to hand the money to a 2nd assistant. The first assistant then handed me a "Receipt" (!) for my purchase - which was headed "Wednesday" (it was a Friday!), "January", it was May!, Year: "2002", (20 years ago!), with the time listed as "1.04 AM"! - as if Brackley Antiques wd be likely to be open in the middle of the night! ie. she was paying no attention whatsoever either to her Customer, or to what she was doing! My daughter thinks this has its comic side - I think it is just appalling service. I wd never go back there.

I come here 2-3 times a years and buy diamond jewellery. My last purchase was a 1930’s 3.2 carat diamond ring it was gorgeous just what I wanted!

I took it to my Goldsmiths to be resized who informed me that amongst the 16 diamonds there were several cubic zirconias! The ring had a crack in it and the diamonds were loose so he told me the best thing I can do is take this back! I just couldn’t believe this!

He then went on to tell me that this is not a 1930s ring at all, it’s a reproduction! The diamonds that are there, are not ‘old cut’ like they should be! Ive ended up with a ‘complete’ fake!

I telephoned Brackley antiques that very day and was told to bring the ring back the next day to ‘start the process’ whatever this means!

The staff said that they had to contact the dealer but he’s on holiday for a few days!

They refused to give me my money back and they refuse to look at written evidence from the reputable Goldsmith in Banbury called Watermans. I asked if they could telephone them but they refused.

They claimed they didn’t know anything about jewellery and their excuse was they don’t know what they’re looking at. Very alarming considering there’s probably 30 glass cabinets full of jewellery that’s on sale!

They said that they had to wait to have the dealers permission to give the money back!

It is very strange as I bought the ring from Brackley antiques not the dealer!

I should’ve been refunded there and then, it cost me £900! As if i wasn’t upset enough already! They needed to have found a staff member that knew about jewellery. It wasn’t my problem.

Selling cubic zirconia‘s and palming them off as diamonds I’d say is highly illegal. Not to mention the modern stones in a supposedly 1930’s ring. You think you’d apologise and refund it very quickly and hope no one ever finds out!

I received a phone call later that day to say Im now allowed a refund.

Just a hell a lot of messing about and unnecessary upset. I certainly won’t buying anything ever again from here due to the way I was treated. Maybe you should get your dealers!

The antique cellar has a mixture of good antiques along with what can only be described as junk. The real downside is he cafe....lukewarm soup and two small slivers of bread for £4. Best avoided!!

Great place to visit. Plenty of different items and at prices for everyone. Liked the quirky lamp stand especially. Something a bit different.

This is one of my favourite haunts. I tried to go a few times a month because clearly stock rotation is high as the business must be thriving with the various dealers within. Therefore, I have learnt that if you see it don’t rely on it being there the next day!

I’ve also spent quite a bit of money here and I’ve always had good service. The ladies are always very nice to deal with, I remember Rebecca, Denise to name but a few.

It is well laid out with lots of space and without doubt there is something for everyone.

Arguably, I believe it’s one of the best antique centres I’ve been in for a long time. It’s also well situated because there is the Waitrose car park next door.

I have not used the café as yet but at least it’s there as a further option to enhance the visit.

An interesting place to walk around. Not necessarily always cheap and if you are buying anything material wise, items can smell damp.

However you could find a hidden gem and you could kill about an hour slowly walking around.

There is a little cafe where drinks, jacket potatoes/sandwiches/cake is served. There are toilets in this area. Staff were lovely and friendly in the cafe.

Pity the same cannot be said for all the staff at the till. I checked the reviews for this place before leaving my own and interesting someone has written about how rude one of the staff is (lady with grey pudding bowl hair cut). I don't know if this is the same Customer who was asking about items in the shop when I was there but she was rude to him. Snapped at him and clearly irritated that he dare to put an offer in on some stuff that SHE did not find acceptable. I would have thought this was the dealers judgement but hay-ho. She does have an air of arrogance and is not Customer friendly and lets the cellar down and everyone else who works there.
The other lady was fine.

I notice that someone has complained about her rude manner and the owner has responded to the Customer blaming COVID and missed the point he was actually makeing. A symptom of COVID is not the inability not to treat people with respect!

There is no need to speak to people in the manner she did. She is rude and non approachable and myself and my party felt embarrassed and sorry for the Customer.

Overall, the trip was fine. I've taken 2 stars off for the damp smell and the rudeness of the woman on the tills.

Thanks for your review , don’t quite know why the damp smell as we have dehumidifiers and heaters put in at considerable costs.
