very peaceful and high taken tree. The airport has number of gates to enter. We had to Check-in at airport gate c for Air India, the security check was smooth. The airport shops are very well laid out making sumo. Duty free shopping possible for passengers.

This is my 2nd time visiting Japan and I was (a little) more savvy on what to do when I first arrived at Tokyo's Haneda airport...
1) Fill out immigration status/customs declaration ONLINE before you arrive- it will make your entry much smoother, no frantic filling out the info at the airport. Google the words "Visit Japan Web" and follow the instructions.
2) Get Japanese currency when you arrive at the airport using your debit card at e.g., the 7-eleven ATM located near the Monorail ticket gate. The 7-Bank ATMs charged me Y220 (~US$1.43 at today's exchange rate) to withdraw monies each time, no matter the amount.
3) Use this cash to buy an IC card for transportation on most subways/trains- You can only use Japanese yen (NOT a credit card) to buy the card. Indispensable to avoid having to buy individual tickets each time you ride a train, even bus. I bought mine at the JR Service Center at the airport, but only because they weren't busy. I think there's a machine near the ATM near the Monorail gate, but don't quote me on that.
4) Exchange your on-line reserved Shinkansen tickets for real tickets - you can do this at the machines near the Monorail ticket gate or at a JR Service Center at the airport or at certain train stations in Tokyo. Warning: multiple companies own different routes, even within the JR system, e.g. there's the JR West, JR Central and JR East. So you must get your "real" tickets from the appropriate East, Central, etc JR Service Center, depending on where your reserved train route is located in Japan.
Side note:
For me, the most stressful part of the trip was the transfers between trains and stations. Japanese trains are extremely efficient and will leave on time. Train stations can be huge. I learned to schedule PLENTY OF TIME between transfers to allow me to find the right station and platform, especially for Shinkansen connections. Google Maps helps immensely, but is not always accurate, especially for platform numbers. Double check your train name, time and platform at the station.
I ordered an eSIM card online before my trip and just activated it when I landed.
Don't ask me any additional questions about any of this, what's above is what I've got!
Loved Japan and the Japanese people. Enjoy!

It seems these days you do not get given landing cards on the plane prior to landing. At Haneda arrivals there is chaos becsuse you have to fill out 2 sorts of cards. 1st is a landing card, where you are staying etc, 2nd is a luggage declaration, all straight forward but if you are without a pen or relevant information on hotels flight number etc you will be a bit flustered. Gather all your details with a pen, find a landing card, luggage card and a quiet spot to fill it out. Secondly always carry some Japamese cash, we got caught out transferring from the Shinkansen to the airport train at Shinagawa station. I won't go into detail but it was a nightmare and all I needed was 330 yen each for the airport train which you can only buy in cash and you will need your ticket from the previous JR train to buy the airport train ticket, if you are transferring.

It is one of the largest airports in Japan, and you can see planes taking off and landing constantly. Just when you think you've landed, you see more planes in the sky. Terminal 2 is mainly used by ANA. The observation deck is also spacious and open.

If you are into watching planes land and take off, this is a good place to see. At night, it is more exciting to see because of all the planes lit. I would think this might be more exciting for children who are fascinated with planes and airports.

I like to spend time here while waiting for my flight back from a business trip.
The observation deck has a stylish restaurant with terrace seating, but I love spending time sitting in the chairs in the free space and just thinking about nothing. Time spent daydreaming, listening to the sounds of large planes taking off and landing and feeling the breeze, helps me switch my mind from work to everyday life.

Of all the domestic terminals at Haneda Airport, Terminal 2 is where the ANA group is located!
It's so interesting to be able to watch planes take off and land live!
You can feel the power of the aircraft and the excitement of about to embark on your journey!

Do appreciate some info on WIFI mobile rental in Haneda international airport arrival!!
Skrevet 16. oktober 2018
Depending on if you ordered it in advance they should tell you exactly where to go. For me it was on the top floor of Haneda on the left side. Looks like they ship mail there or something, but the Portable Wi-Fi i reserved was there :)

We have a three hour layover in Tokyo Sunday evening. We are flying coach but are there lounges for ANA customers that can be purchased?
Skrevet 25. juli 2018
Not sure, but it is a very nice terminal with lots of seating in the gate lounges and a shopping area upstairs. Coffee shops, restaurants also but not a great number. You need to be there at least 2 hours before flight out anyway, so find a comfy seat and read a book.

My flight arrives from Sydney at 5.15 am but i can't check into my hotel in Shinjuku till 2pm. We are 3 adults and need a room only for 6 or 7 hrs to rest. What would you suggest? Do you give out rooms on an hourly rate?
Skrevet 28. februar 2018
Most hotels will accommodate an early check-in if you call and speak with them. Usually not all rooms are booked every night, and if they are some guests depart early enough they can clean a room and have it available for an early check in.
Take into account deplaning, customs, getting to the taxi-stand and drive time to the hotel and you are likely looking at arrival there at 8 AM at the earliest. And if you have breakfast even later.

How long will it take to clear customs at 6am? (disembark from plane, go through immigration, collect luggage, go through quarantine)
Skrevet 3. april 2017
Haneda immigration is terrible. It took well over two hours to get through! It was the worst immigration experience I have ever had and I travel globally regularly. Staff are inefficient, inadequately trained and rude. The immigration hall was rammed full and boiling hot. It was basically a super spreader event!

My husband & I are going on a family trip and will be staying at a hotel at Haneda Airport the night before we leave. All the family, except us, will leaving from that airport, but we are going out of NRT. Does anyone have a suggestion as to the easiest way with luggage to go from me to the other and how long should we allow for travel? It is a morning flight.
Skrevet 16. september 2016
Hi. It is a long drive so you need to leave ample time,if you are going in rush hour 3 hours would not be unreasonable I think

Bonjour,
Est-ce qu'il est possible de prendre une douche sur place?
Merci Samuel.
