When you travel with Yonas you immediately realize that you are getting more than a tour guide. You are traveling with a friendly and passionate local Ethiopian who is happy to share the beauty of his country as well as his wealth of insight into the local culture.
I was traveling with my wife and teenage daughter and we each had different locations and activities that interested us. Yonas helped us discover the unique Ethiopian experiences we were each looking for.
My family and I could not have chosen a better guide, and after traveling to five African countries and meeting several friends and guides along the way, Yonas is among the best of both and I highly recommend him for your time in Ethiopia.

Wenchi crater lake is one of the places to visit near Addis. Since the distance from Addis is 120km, this make it feasible for a day trip. The beautiful nature says about it, the feeling also stays for long.

I just returned home after spending 3 weeks on a custom tour planned by Landscape Ethiopia Tours and Travel. Yonas was very helpful in the planning of this trip and some of our destinations included Addis Ababa, Lake Wenchi Bahir Dar, Blue Nile Falls, Gondar, Semien Mountains, Lalibela, Awramba village , Aruba Minch, the lower Omo Valley, Awash National Park, Harar, and Hawssa . I travel a lot and this is the best trip I have ever been on. No detail was overlooked. Yonas himself met us at the airport in Addis and checked in often on the trip to make sure everything was going well.
I can not say enough about how wonderful Ethiopia is and HIGHLY recommend Yonas. I will be returning to see parts of the country I did not see on this trip and will definitely be using Landscape Ethiopia Tours to plan the trip and am looking forward to seeing Yonas again. Best trip ever

Jonas was a fantastic guide- caring, kind, great with the service , and full of wonderful information. was also an incredible driver and helped make everything feel easy. he is a great guide and went above and beyond to get us every experience we wanted (including city Tour ). Yonas is very kind and as a Driver guide he know everything about Wenchi and the history of the Monastery!! lot of things about the place and motivate us during the trekking. He is also friendly to every one at the village he knows everybody we felt very safe during our stay with Him The Lake is is absolutely amazing, the lake is so clean you can even swim so much green and relaxing! You feel absorbed in the silence, you can only ear the sounds of birds. you can see also baboons, coulomb's monkey

I had an awesome experience .
This place has been rated the best tourist place to visit in Ethiopia 🇪🇹 by UNESCO.
It takes almost 3 hours to reach wonchi village.
And about 45 mins by car to reach the spot.
U can trekk to the placeby feet or also take a horseback ride.
It's a trek suitable for beginners. It will take you around 4 to 5 hours to explore the place. It had mud clay bath, hot water spring, a monastry, and a boat ride.
It's scenic beauty will awe you. Best place to go with family and friends.

It's an excellent trip to do if you want to see what is it like outside Addis. Yonas, the tour guide was knowledgable and eager to take questions. The hike all the way to the waterfall was simply surrounded by breathtaking views. I love the trip throughout including local markets and communities I got to see on the way

Sorry, only just seen the question - hope I'm not too late! It's a couple of hours, depending on traffic in Addis which can be busy. It's easy to visit in a day if you're short of time but better if you get a chance to spend longer and take time to walk around. I believe you can walk all the way around in about 5 hours but there are lots of shorter walks you can do. I swam in it this visit!
