It really nice nature park. Fairly big. There were alot of trees blocking paths when I went which made the walk more interesting for sure. I saw that is meant to be a accessible path unless I am mistaken, the path was not very accessible to be honest. It was a bit busy when I went. There is car park which is great.

Went here today with my husband and two teenage daughters , 15 minutes into are walk two grown men about 55 on one wheeled bikes were behind us on a narrow path , my husband was a bit in front of me then I was behind him and my two teenage daughters aged 13 were behind me , the two men were behind my daughters , my daughters could not go anywere as it was a really narrow path I turned around to see this angry man saying somethink as he went past , he called my two daughters f+***** #### heads , b######and said didn’t they hear me with the bell , three times I rang it well they did not hear you and your a disgrace verbally abusing to young girls , you had to come back they way you came my husband stopped him and he said yes I did call them won’t repeat the words again and said yiur daughter pushed me over !!! no she never You pushed my daughter to the side so you could get past on your toy bikes , even though yiur not to have bikes riding in the park if you want to play on your man toys go some were there is not families with young children on paths , grown men , he eventually apologised , my two girls were really upset and in shock from this mans disgraceful behaviour really spoilt the day

A lovely large and unique park with some excellent dog walking paths.
A little uneven under foot in some areas, but fine if you've got sturdy footwear.
Our dog loves going here.

I have been going to this park all my 47 years. I grew up in this park and love it above any other woodland in the uk.. amazing blue bells, amazing sledging when it snows. Fantastic Sunday and Boxing Day walks.. childhood names for different parts.. Nans hill where the reads dog always went when we were kids.. old mans finger for the tree that had fallen into the bog at the bottom of the slope when entering the park from Vanderbyl Avenue, holly hide, the hours we spent playing in the trees walking across the tunnel balancing on the middle beam to not get muddy.. so many wonderful wonderful memories... wonderful wondeful place...

I visited here on a damp,rainy day.
The carpark is quite small and could do with being properly surfaced,it will probably fit about 25 cars.
There is a map of the area when you first arrive and there is also a visitors centre.
It appeared quite popular with dog walkers and the locals.
Although there is probably a lot of wildlife,i did not really see any.It was nice to hear the birds sing in the trees. There are bird feeding tables for the birds but it was difficult to see any of them. There is a lot of established trees and greenery but i did not really see much wildflowers.
There is a large pond with seats alongside it and access for fishermen.
There are paths leading in different directions,i took a path that led up to Spital Dam which was following a stream but that was practically dried up and i feel it could be better maintained.
I wore sensible footwear as the paths are quite muddy in places.
This is not a great place to take photographs of as there is not much views for anyone interested in photography.
There is a ranger office in park.

Country park with numerous different walks. The scenery is varied and there are pleasant parts of walks adjacent to inland streams and rivers

Brotherton Park and the Dibbinsdale Local Nature Reserve join as one large, long woodland area. Access is from all sides on Spital Road and Dibbins Hey. Beautiful, unspoilt woodland ideal for a walk

We visit here regularly, and love watching the woodland change with the seasons. Various walks are available, with an abundance of wild life, and something new to see on every visit. We especially like playing Pooh Sticks off Ladybridge!
