Great experience was just the 2 of us we cooked multiple dishes and got to sit down to eat all that was cooked for lunch chef was not overly informative and would have been difficult with a group I would suggest only experienced cooks for this class

To say that it exceeded his expectations would be the understatement of all understatements. He was nearly in tears on the drive back to our hotel, grateful and appreciative of all the effort it takes to prepare a "simple" meal.
Our lesson began with an education of Cyclades Cuisine, and the chopping and prepping of eggplant, tomato, red onion, zucchini, fava and a little pork. These six main ingredients were prepared into several different dishes...just for us! My favorite was the pork flambéed in ouzo and a fava bean purée. Incredible!! We made risotto; stuffed tomato; fava bean with capers, shaved onion and olive oil; a Greek style bruschetta called Dako (I could be spelling that wrong); sautéed pork in onion, eggplant, and tomato; two kinds of homemade tomato sauces; zucchini and mint croquettes; zucchini carpaccio; and lots more. All without any cream or butter. The Dako had a little local goat cheese, but the goat cheese was creamier and lighter than what is sold in the States. It was heaven. His home grown dried mint used in some of the dishes added a refreshing and welcome complexity to every bite.
Although we sampled all the dishes, there was no possible way to finish it all. Stuffed to the gills, we wobbled back to our car, with tins full of our delicious efforts to be happily consumed over the next couple of days.

This was a beautyfull experience! We really enjoyed eating in Pollonia restaurant and when we heard about the cooking lessons we decided to tried it. Ms Georgia and Ioanna from Apanemia tavern organised something very special! We had a chance to try many local tastes (wine & cheece) and get to cook our own cheese pies and lasagne with garlic & sun dried tomatoe sause! Ioanna through the lesson was telling us how these reciepes have evolved and how thw rich geology of the island gives many herbs making the local recipies very tastefull. We also made the famous watermellon pie as a desert!
Very welcoming both of them and the service was nice (we had dinner some other day). We like that the recipies was easy so we can make them back home!
If you like cooking you must try it!

We were extremely lucky to be part of one of the first cooking classes taking place at Apanemia, a local tavern. The experience was excellent. Both the translator (Ioanna) and the chef, a lovely Greek Lady (Mrs Georgia), had a great rapport with each other and were extremely friendly. In fact, their rapport added to whole experience. We made three courses (all delicious) prior to which the various herbs, cheeses and ingredients specific to Greek cooking were explained to us (and tasted by us). We also tried a number of drinks ranging from wine to spirits (very strong!). The class was small enough to make us feel like we had personal attention but big enough to meet a number of other like minded people. The cooking is followed by a lunch where, at the end, I literally couldn't eat another mouthful....so much food.
I would definitely recommend this experience; it was a great way to spend the afternoon.

We are very intrested in new tasting experiences, and milos cooking lessons couldn't satisfied us better. Me and my mother had a day in Apanemia the local tavern in pollonia, where the lessons took place.
Ioanna, the lady who was are guide, give us a lot of cooking advises and tips for the local products of milos, with Mrs. Georgia( the adorable cook), that made us so many local dishes and help us prepare them as well.
After the educating and funny preparation, the best part begins. We all sat and enjoy our ''handmade'' lunch. I like them all, but my favorite dishes where pitarakia and watermelon pie. (very special tastes) .
All the experience was very nice and a good time to spend for.

The lessons took place in "Apanemia", a local tavern. First there was an introduction to local spices, herbs and different types of cheese (which we also got the chance to taste) and then.. time to get our hands dirty! Trying to make for the first time pitarakia, lasagna with garlic sauce and watermelon pie was real fun! Mrs Georgia (the cook) was loveable and kind. She patiently guided us through the process, helping us and giving us valuable advice and tips. We cooked three appetizers, one main dish and a dessert, which we then ate for lunch.
Overall it was an experience worth saving time for.
