Walk starts at the tree in the rock carpark, we walked it clockwise, starting out by walking past the tree in the rock , I think that is definitely the easier ascent .. cool day 21 C, great views along the ridge , certainly a doable walk for anyone with moderate fitness , easily walked it in trainers no walking poles

We had just done 2 days walking in the Stirling Range in some very hot weather with the company of a million flies, so this was a pleasant change. The walk goes through some restful forest with lots of wildflowers to admire and the accompaniment of birdsong. It can get a little steep in places, but is still manageable. We had stopped off on our way to Albany so decided not to tackle the Devils Slide due to time factors, but I think it would have been quite an 'interesting' challenge. Nancy Peak is a circuit walk, which is nice as you are not doubling back along terrain you have just seen.

Great walk and even better scenery when you reach Nancy's Peak. Well worth the climb up, be careful on the climb down as it can become quite steep.

We did the full circuit walk taking in Nancy's Peak and the return trip to Devil's Slide.
The whole walk was about 7km and took about 3 hours with plenty of photo and viewing stops.
To get to Devil's Slide is a steep 750m upward walk. Best to have hiking shoes and poles otherwise you might slip. The views are well worth worth it, and it is a good challenge.
The national park has fees and the car park has toilets and is a great spot for a picnic.
There is a great map of the walk or read about it on the great Life of Py website.

Wonderful hike with great views. Wear good hiking shoes and take water with you. We did this along with other walks in the area.

Sensational climb and the Devils Slide walk is a must if you like a challenge..total of 6.8km return. Start in clockwise direction and do Tree in Rock first. Nice to see no man-made log steps just nicely placed granite that blends with with the landscape. Views are stunning on a clear day with views to Bald Head. Could do with a bit more signage for when you reach the peaks but track is clearly marked. Great bbq area and clean toilets. Wildflowers, orchids, changing vegetation and moss covered rocks are a photographers delight.

Unfortunately, being a cloudy day meant the vistas of the area couldn't be appreciated. However, that meant lowering one's gaze to more immediate surroundings which, surprisingly, some wildflowers were spotted. The track is quite clear and a couple of steep bits, but overall a decent hike.

This is one of the best walks around. Doing it clockwise (up past Tree in the Rock) is best. The path to the ridge and Nancy Peak can be a bit steep in places, but easy to follow. The path along the ridge line gives fantastic views to the North and South, especially on a clear day. The path down to the pass is very steep but the last km or so through the Karri trees is beautiful.

The 5.5 km treck is not so difficult if you have good shape. Better to do it clockwise. You have to take care on the summit for the slippery rocks , specially in case of wind , or rain ..
You need to wear good shoes. Only the top of the hill is without shade , so bring a hat...

Recommend this excellent hike. The views make the climbing worth it, and must be special in wildflower season. When you climb back down to the Wansborough trail only attempt Devil's Slide if you have another 90 mins or so extra to spare, and ONLY if fine dry conditions. See separate reviews on Devil Slide, including mine- I slipped and fractured my femur! Enjoy, but do take care!!
