Στο πανέμορφο χωριό του Χουδετσίου ένας από τους προορισμούς σας θα πρέπει να είναι και το οινοποείο αυτό.Μόλις 15 λεπτά από το Ηράκλειο και σε μία οινοπαραγωγική περιοχή μπορεί κάποιος να συνδιάσει κάποιες επισκέψεις σε οινοποιεία .Σίγουρα ένα από αυτά θα πρέπει να είναι του Ταμιωλάκη.Οι οικοδεσπότες Μαρία και Δημήτρης ,φιλικότατοι,φιλόξενοι,προσιτοί και φυσικά γνώστες του κρασιού θα σας κάνουν να αισθανθείται σαν το σπίτι σας.Τα δε κρασιά ποιοτικά και σίγουρα έχουν συμβάλλει στην άνοδο του Κρητικού αμπελώνα στον παγκοσμιο χάρτη.

A planned visit while on holiday in Crete with a group of over 20 people.
Being family owned, the welcome was warm and genuine. The guide was very friendly and informative, about the history, operation and the grapes/ wines themselves.
We were treated to a very generous wine tasting session covering white, rose & red wines (the phot shows just a few) and served with olive bread and olives.
Not having tried Cretan wine before, we were very impressed with the superb taste and quality, which of course led to having to buy some fine examples.
A great family owned and operated winery - thank you for the very enjoyable visit and some happy memories - thank you.

We had a lovely tour and tasting with Maria. Beautiful views from the hilltop, lovely tasting room. Small winery, family run, wonderful wines. Highly recommend visiting, it's worth the effort, although be careful f you make a wrong turn and end up driving through the village. The streets are extremely narrow.

Not the easiest place to find but worth it. There are wonderful views from the rooftop of the winery.
The wine is is made with handpicked grapes in a small winery that is very labour intensive with bottling, labelling etc. done by hand. Fortunately this isn't reflected in the price, I was pleasantly surprised by the price of this quality wine.

We visited Rhous Winery as part of a private wine tour on our honeymoon. The grounds and building were beautiful- great views and establishment. Our guide (I wish I remembered her name) was very informative and answered many questions about the vineyard, grapes, even Greek politics! There wasn't a wine we didn't enjoy, and even brought some back to the States (which we are opening this weekend for Valentine's Day!). It sounds as though production has grown, and they are a healthy new winery. I have no doubt they will succeed, and only wish their wine was available back home. The visit was fantastic from start to finish.

The way from Chersonnisos to Rhous Winery was an interesting drive through the country and many villages. Maria welcomed us and explained us how the Timiulakis winery originated and now is called Rhous winery. She handed us much information during both the tour and the tasting. Since I was very positive about 6 of their produced wines, I ordered 3 white and 3 red (each x2), total of 12 bottles for shipping to Aachen Deutschland. Only the shipping cost are a bit high unfortunately. For next week friday 8 jan 2016 I am organizing a wine testing/tasting for our wineclub "De WijnCroon".

The place is hard to find but it worth it.
In Choudetsi,you'l find a sign with the name "Tamiolakis" (near the supermarket). But then, you have to follow the white sign with the red inscription in greek.
When you get there, the place is beautiful, between vineyard and olive trees.
We had the full tour (visit + tasting 6 wines) for 7 euros.
The lady was very kind and took time to explain us the whole process, and also presented the wines which were very good.
Tips:
- If you want to buy some bottles, take some cash with you, cards aren't accepted.
- The winery changed name and it's now the Rhous Winery.

This was a great place to go with kids - its recently rebranded to Rhous Winery but thats not evident on any of the road signs.
We were lucky enough to go when no one else was around and got a guided tour and wine tasting for very reasonable price. The guide was fantastic and her english was excellent - definitely recommend it - the kids were fascinated even though they couldnt taste anything.
Highly recommend.

We had the best time at this winery with a terrific, extensive tour with Maria. We toured the space and learned how the wine is made and then had a great tasting. This was a highlight of our visit to Crete and highly recommended. It's a little challenging to locate off the main road and up a steep and winding hill but well worth the trip! We came away with two bottles of wine. Wonderful!
