We've been around to most of the key places in Litchfield and this one we returned to. Amazing swimming, the scenery, water temperature, it's really a must do when visiting. Easy stroll from the car.

Great swimming hole. We did the walk to tree top deck which was an awesome walk. You can see the tree canopy from this deck. We didn’t continue the walk around as we didn’t have walking shoes on.
The pool was great to swim in, nice and cooling, but being fresh water, you aren’t buoyant so remember to take a noodle or hire one as these are really helpful.
The pool is accessible with steps and handrails in two areas so easy to get in and out of.
Must do cooling pool. We grabbed a sandwich from the kiosk which was tasty and fresh.

We were lucky to strike a fabulous day and no crocodiles, as one attacked a swiimer not two days after we swam here. It is all clear now we believe. The falls themselves are not spectacular but still, a nice backdrop to the large swimming area. There were a lot of people here, most with their noodles to help them float, something we didnt have but wished we did. The water is clean and cool but not too cold. There looks like there is plenty of parking but we had to find a spot on the side of the entrance road. Just luck to get a parking spot when it is busy. This is definitely worth a visit and an easy drive from Darwin for a day trip.

Unable to swim as the water levels were still too high with strong currents - and possibly still a saltie (crocodile) lurking in the water

Depending on when you visit, the Wangi Falls are different during the dry and wet seasons. In the dry season, the falls are not as dynamic as it is in the wet seasons. Swimming in the plunge pool was not allowed when we visited because of the possibility of an increased risk of crocodiles. Regardless, the falls provide a beautiful photo opportunity. The rock face area around the falls and other nearby areas are sacred places for the Aboriginals who believed spirits in the form of humans, animals and plants created the features of the landscape here. History notes these falls were a special place for indigenous women to bathe and swim. It is believed men who looked at the women were lured into the waters and to their death. Be respectful.

Yet another impressive waterfall and lake in NT! Here is a good possibility for a swim on a warm and hot day in NT. There are good changing rooms for changing into swimwear. Be careful when you go into the water as the last step is very steep. But the water is nice and cool. It is a very popular area so it could be difficult to find a space.

Absolutely beautiful, you cannot go swimming here, but its a magical place to visit. Easy access to get there and would suit anyone who is not mobile.

Another lovely NT waterfall/rock pool with very easy access. Which is probably why there were so many people. There were a lot of noisy young men colonising the waterfall which was slightly irritating but still a lovely place for a swim.

We arrived at lunchtime on a Friday (interstate school hols) and there were lots and lots of people! It is a huge area of water so plenty of space for a swim once you got in. Most of the shaded grass area near the edge was pretty full. There is a cafe which looks set up to deal with coaches of people and had sandwiches, some hot food and cold drinks, tired looking and not very appealing though.

Nice short walk out to the falls. Cannot swim in this area. Very picturesque and a couple of walks around the falls as well. There is also a big cafe here so good idea to eat here as there is not much else within the NP.
