Huge and beautiful cave in one of the most beautiful areas of Romania.
After a 10 minute walk from the road we climbed to the entrance. At the ticket office /souvenir shop there was a very nice and helpful employee which we later found out was our guide also.
The cave is amazing, a wonder of nature . You will see incredible formations and learn all about it from the well prepared and entertaining guide. The tours start at the top of the hour and it takes around 40 minutes (you go one way and come back on a different way) there is good lighting inside, stairs and walkways, everything was safe even for kids.

The cave at Meziad , it was a great surprise for me - to see it lit up - because last time I was here , was 20 years ago and than the cave was not illuminated like today , we had only head lamps at that time with us- today with the artificial lighting is a totally different perspective.
Entrance fee is 30 Ron - so not really too much - and from the perspective of guiding the guide who took us through was really friendly and made the tour very interesting.
Inside the cave there are 12-14 degrees C , constantly - so be prepared that is kind of cold. Entrance is every top of the hour - so if you are not there at that time - you'll need to wait for the next group to enter.
Overall an excellent experience and a very spectacular spot to visit - when you are in the area put this place on your list- it is definitely worth it (you can check out the pics attached to this review for a teaser to go and visit).

One of the biggest caves, I ever seen. We were there late of October, the cave was dry. The tourist guide is very kind and answers all the questions. The place is really nice. We made also a little walk above the entrace with Bobi, the cave dog. There is a via ferrata, but one segment is broken, don't try!

Apuseni Mountains are very well known for their great caves, and there are so many. Meziad Cave it is a must see place. It is one of the first caves ready to receive visitors and one with the longest lenght for seeing it. The amazing and unique forms which give its unicity must see by any people who travel in this area. You can read on net so many about is but see it with your eyes is something very different. We had the luck to take beautiful photos and see that visit worth it so much!!!

Really happy that I find this cave! It was not in my plan to visiting this place because I did not now there is such beautiful place!:)
The cave it's amazing because it's kept natural with Bat's not like the other cave that it's been closed from the natural habit. (bear cave)
The guide was amazing! I was surprised that they translate to tourists in English and Hungarian ❤️What in the other cave they do not :(
The best thing is that they don't rush you out, you can take as many pictures you want without flash of course :) But in the other cave they don't let you to take pictures all the around....JUST WHERE THEY WANT (Bear Cave)
I would rate this cave with 10****** just because they made me feel welcome and the attitude of the guide was great. I will be back with more friends. Big Thank You

Lovely cave in Apuseni mountains, the cave can only be visited with a guide! So be sure to check the schedule before visiting! The time schedule is different in the summer than the winter! It is beautifully iluminated! We also have seen bats inside, from july we have been told that it is full of bats! Lovely! I highly recomend it

I arrived at Meziad Cave yesterday at about 2:30 pm. The guide told me that there was a problem with the electricity in the cave and many steep areas so it was a little dangerous to go in. So it might be best to call before arriving to make certain that the electricity is functioning

Huge, nicely illuminated, with comfortable platforms. Walking only with a guide, so you must be at a specific time.

Meziad Cave is located at an altitude of 435 m. The access to the cave is by car, then a short walk of about 300m uphill. It is one of the most beautiful caves in Apuseni Mountains. It has a large entrance, and many stalactites and stalagmites with fantastic shapes. One of the inside halls has a height of about 35m. The cave also hosts many bats. I highly recommend it!
