I did a walk in the park recently . Took the jungle train from Kota Kinabalu to Beaufort but unfortunately had to continue with a taxi to Sipitang, Tenom as the 2nd
half of the jungle rail was under
repair. Took a RM4 minivan from Tenom
(just hang around the bus stand and
ask about the minivan to "taman").
The park is well-kept and well-
signed. I reckon it will take
earnest flora and fauna lovers 2 days
to see and understand all species
planted there. I took the park"s mini
train (basically two carriages pulled by a golf buggy) for a quick overview. Starting clockwise from the
left of the entrance if you are facing inward there will be the following=> tropical fruit trees,
medicinal herbs, Jungle trees, local
honey bees cultivation, modern gardens, trellises, water plants, orchids, cannonball trees. There are
accomodations like hostels, chalets and a camping ground which is an island surrounded by lakes. Not far from the hostel is a borneon ironwood
patch where uses of the "belian" are displayed . A view tower in the centre overlook the lakes and
gardens. Large catfishes can be
sighted from here. The other half of
the garden (if we continue clockwise) are the admin office, the camping ground, bougainvillaes,
cactus or something. The mini zoo has
animals from a typical malaysian farm but it was closed. The central garden are planted with flowering
trees, herbs and spices from the tropics. Adjacent to the honey bees cultivation are rambutans, langsats,
mangosteens trees. Guests are allowed to pick the fruits if they are in season. The weather in Tenom
is pleasant, in the low twenties
(celcius) that allowed me to walk all day long. There is a cafe for guests for simple kopi and nasi goreng.
Don't try the bikes as they don't
seem to be in good condition. Need
strong legs😁 . I will return again
to capture what I missed with a good
camera, perhaps with a sleeping bag for an overnight stay.

This Sabah Agricultural Park is located around 20mins from Tenom town. From KK city to Tenom is around 3 hours. Don't know why such a large park is built at Tenom instead of KK. If at KK city, this park will definitely attract lots f tourists. This really waste of taxpayer's money.
When I arrived the park, there is only less than 10 cars there. There is a train bringing us around the park, but most of flora parks is closed, and can seen that the park is less of maintenance.

Awesome place for nature and a good long walk! Plenty to see. Varieties of plants, trees and flowers. Lots of mozzies too! But must go. No fruit trees though. They do have mini train service around the park but only on certain times. I prefer to walk.

An ambitious project set to vow visitors to the Park, especially for flora lovers, unfortunately, the management/maintenance of the Park has fallen below par. The setting of the Park is great, but the up-keeping is somewhat need to improve. For instant, we went specifically to see the Borneo orchids, and only see a few. Disappointed!

Visited with my wife as part of a small tour group. We started by walking around the park on our own (no group or guide) for an hour. The lake was very pleasant and we walked around it and climbed the tower which gave good views from the top. There is a small zoo but it was closed when we were there.

After the hour was up we reassembled and got in the small wooden "train" which took us around the rest of the park visiting a large collection of bee hives and then the orchid garden with dozens of different types of orchids.

A pleasant visit but regrettably no animals to photo.

It does not matter if you like plants and flowers or not. It does not matter if you are a plant expert. A visit to this agricultural park in Tenom will not be disappointed. The trees, plants and flowers are just so pretty and you just have to admire these nature beauty. I don’t think you can finish seeing all in a day. So just take your time to see as much and enjoy the stroll. Depending on the time of visit, it can be hot and sweaty.

This is one of the must visit spots in Tenom so we made our way here. Road signs leading to this place is clear from Tenom town. Admission fee is RM10 for adults and RM7 for senior citizen. Different rates for non-Malaysians. Once inside the park, we waited for the tram to transport us to the orchid garden. From there we walked to the model garden. It was really hot so it's a good idea to wear a hat or bring an umbrella. The tram then transported us back to the starting point. From here, visitors are free to walk around and explore the different themed gardens. It wasn't fruit season during our visit, and not all flowers were blooming. It's a big park and rather tiring to walk to all places especially uder the hot sun. It will be great if the tram can be scheduled to go around different points of interest. The concept of an agricultural park is great but needs to be properly maintained. Souvenir shop and canteen are open too. Also be aware of ants along the paths.

My wife and I had heard about this place and we finally visited it on a long weekend. We stayed a night in the second chalet. Since we had our own car, we drove out to the town for our meals. So, we had no complaints about the kitchen utensils or any of the facilities provided. But, there was power failure at 12:30am till we left that place at 11am the next day. What to see. The Animal Park is pathetic. There were pigeons, merbuk bird, ducks, chicken, goats, peacock, 1 horse (does not look miserable as some has commented, maybe a new horse) 1 deer. That's all. If you don't have small children, you could skip this park. Since you are there, don't miss the Hybrid Orchid Park, Model Park and Evolution Adaptation Plant Park. There are interesting fauna and the places were well kept. For a local, I did not visit the different fruit trees, Finally, for the price of a hotel room, it was a refreshing stay especially waking up to the sounds of birds and clean air. The complaint that I would have is insufficient flowering plants. Well worth a visit to experience a non-city environment and definitely a great environment to get away from the city.

We stayed in the park , we rented one of the chalets for two nights, that cost RM150 which was reasonable , only a few problems to begin with in that there are only 3 chalets and the first one we were given , wasn't very clean, the fridge was disgusting and some of the lights didn't work, so back to reception (in the car) nice guy gave us the keys to Chalet number 2, we went back...the gas had run out and there were a few lights missing, went back to reception ...same nice guy..had keys to number 3 already , we all went back , number 3 was fine , only a light in the main bathroom missing!! The restaurant wasn't open there and there is only a small snack bar that is open till around 1700. The gates close then but you can still get in and out. Tenom is only about 20 minutes away so you can get your food there are get tapau!
The park itself is quite large and fairly well organised but it could do with a lot more signage to help you get round. I was surprised that it was so empty but that may have been because its February. They have a number of educational areas for schools and adults . The orchid and cactus sections were wonderful , but some of the other areas needed a bit more care . Well worth a visit
