Excursion en famille aux Similans depuis Khao Lak, toutes les compagnies sont pareilles, on est entassé sur un bateau, certes rapide, mais franchement beaucoup trop de personne par bateau, et beaucoup trop de bateaux sur les Similans, conclusion pas énormément de poissons, plus de touristes dans l'eau que de poissons...repas du midi nullissime, même pas en quantité suffisante pour tout le monde.

This tour was to Similan Islands, advertised as a German and English Tour.
This tour cost 2200 Bhat purchased in a tour agency on the street.
Firstly I would like to emphasize the fact that if you're an English speaker this isn't that tour for you, priority was given to the German speaking clients where the bulk of the information was conveyed to them, whereas the English speaking clients were given 1 sentence explanations often confused as the full instructions weren't conveyed in English.
Secondly this particular tour squished in 40 people onto the boat which made it extremely uncomfortable, as there was no where near enough room for each person to sit down. As there were so many people the tour guide did not bother to get to know you, you were just a number and were not looked after, you were often left to fend for yourself with constant pressure of being left behind.
I honestly believe it is worth paying a little bit extra to pay for a better service than waste your valuable holiday experience putting up with a company like this. You're on a holiday to enjoy yourself so allow yourself to receive the best experience possible.
I hope I help you steer in the right direction and you don'y make the same mistake as I did.

We booked a day trip by speedboat to Similan Island departing from Khoa Lak, Phang-Nga. The departure was a bit chaotic with a number of different groups arriving at the pre-departure area at the same time. The Belgium guide, Ron, made it clear that the Asians and Europeans would be in separate groups (which sounded a bit odd, even racist, so we hoped we had missed something in translation). Once we were on our way all went well. Ron did his best to ensure everyone was happy and he tried to time island stops so we had beaches to ouselves as best we could. There are a lot of visitors to those islands. The islands and the waters are beautiful but don't expect coral. We had 35 people on our well equipped speedboat. A safety induction might be a good idea. We were joined by a pod of dolphins on our way home which was nice.

Booked a snorkelling day trip through similan dive centre in bang Niang. Day was great, got picked up and had a short drive to the office where we had tea and coffee and got kitted out with fins and snorkels. Then a second short drive to the speedboat. 32 of us on the boat, which was fine. Got taken to first island (Donald duck bay) which was a great opportunity to have a practice. Then taken to another snorkelling site where we jumped out from the boat. Then to another beach where we spent half an hour snorkelling. Walked across to the other side of the island for lunch which was really good and very plentiful. Another snorkelling opportunity from the beach before we got back on the boat and had our last snorkel from the boat. About 1 hour back to the pier. As an added bonus spotted a whale on our way back so slowed to watch him for a bit. Belgian guy running the tour was excellent and all of the boat crew were also great. Drinks and snacks provided throughout the day. Highly recommended!!! Thank you for a fantastic experience.
