Went to lake with my sons today to cool off. Person manning office seemed older than nice staff by water, but this giy didnt even look up from his computer when I said hello and tteated us like an inconvenience.
Have been here before and was used to single fee to lsunch own craft. This has mow been changed to a stiff £10pp/per hour using your own gear! He said he couldnt even hire me a life jacket for legal reasons if I used my own board Absolute nonsense. He had the personality and appeal of a cold roast dinner and zero customer service skills. In the end we hired a kayak from them just so I could get a life jacket.
This place has changed to start fleecing people. Definitely wont be back

This water park is excellent except for the on site facilities there are not enough toilets for such a large area and they are very small when you have children with you the shower room and disabled toilets are far from being capable of dealing with busy times , the changing rooms at the aqua adventure have no single compartments for people who wish to change in private as my friend has had breast cancer and has has a mastectomy feels very uncomfortable undressing in front of other people so there should be some kind of facility for disabled or people like her . Also I found the people working at the park are a little bit unfriendly they are too busy talking amongst themselves and they are not rude but not welcoming . The people on the date at arrival were not at all welcoming just checked the tickets and that was that the people in the cafe unfriendly I think they could all do with some people training and also the lifeguards do not seem to be watching what is happening as they should be as there was an incident where it was a customer that had noticed this and alerted the guards in all the experience left me feeling that there could be some training and more supervising ! And if you haven’t got much money take food the prices are extortionate !

Great couple of hours reasonably priced pay as you go kayaking with my own craft with no faffing! Easy to find, good parking, basic facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Big range of equipment on offer to hire along with activities & swimming. Can recommend and will visit again

Me and a friend of mine visited the lake on 17/9/2021. We booked both the tandem kayak and paddleboarding. Neither of us have took part in either activity before and were buzzing when we finished.
We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived , the staff took time on each activity and explained what and how to use the equipment. We were reassured that we would be helped if need be. The facilities were all assessable and clean.
We both had a fantastic day and would highly recommend lake 86 to others. We are now looking at local companies nearer to home to try our skills again. Thank you to all the staff

We visited here last week as a family to try the paddle boarding and kayaks. I have to say I wish we had visited earlier in our holidays so we could go again! The staff were excellent. So friendly, funny and helpful. The guy who rescued me in the boat when I fell off my paddle board and couldn’t get back on gave me the confidence to try again. The facilities are clean and well maintained and the prices are very reasonable. Oh and if you do go make sure you try the crepes!! What a great day!

This was the first time myself (aged 52) and my 2 sons (22 and 13) tried paddleboarding. Having done a little research beforehand, I chose lake 86 for this experience as they had such good reviews and offered free carparking. I knew we would get a brief beforehand which was important for me, as this was a new experience for me a little out of my comfort zone. Booking and payment online was straightforward. We turned up 15 mins before our launch time to receive the briefing and get our life jackets on. One of the staff was checking arrivals. All staff were friendly. The briefing was clear, contained everything you needed to know with a little humour in good measure. Then we were off! I'm so glad I tried this. I managed to avoid falling off my board. My youngest fell in 7 times but loved it. I would recommend this activity and Lake 86 to do it on. I will try kayaking there another time.

We were looking for a suitable lake to self launch our kayak an SUP's
Even though we hadn't booked in they were really accomodating and we ended up also hiring a kayak.
Great value for a couple of hours.
Lots of space on the lake and parking with a good cafe and facilities
