Booked a sunrise kayak trip. Called a day in advance that it was cancelled because of too dangerous on the stairs to the beach. 2h later than originally booked we could join.
Deal with disappointment, but offer accepted.
At half past eight in the parking lot we received life jacket and paddles. Still waiting for the other kayakers to arrive and down the stairs.
On the beach we received clear safety instructions and tips and were divided into 2 groups. The kayaks that were already on the beach we were allowed to carry to the sea and the tour started.
First to the Benagil cave to get ahead of the crowds (this was not superfluous, because it was definitely getting crowded, even now at the end of October).
From there, after 4k photos were taken, paddled to other caves.
Along the way we got a lot of explanation about the history of the tours, the origin of the many caves and the problems they face now that a native seaweed species covers the beaches with stinking strings that make the sea murky.
Sailed into a few caves, through a "gate."
All in all a nice trip with friendly guides and comfortable kayaks (is not always the case with other providers).
It always surprised me how busy the whole Algarve was on the water despite the fact that it was already the end of October.
And was also happy, given the sometimes narrow openings in the caves and the crowds on the water of other, fast-moving tour boats that we already had some kayaking experience.
The kayak is a very nice, eco-friendly way to discover the Algarve and recommend it to everyone.
