quite pretty place but i met rainy & mist day so that muddy and a bit hard to walk to the end of cliff. However, luckily after wait 15min the mist disappeared that i have some better picture and view although soak already. i believe sunny day should be super pretty

We did this hike in mid September and the weather was cool but no rain or major wind. The trail is muddy but marked by blue posts- it appears they may be creating a trail for the start now (construction seen). 45 min one way- but can be challenging with the steep hills and mud. Wear good shoes and waterproof gear. The hike was 200dkk per person and we were offered a free hiking post to use- which came in handy quite a few times.
The views are amazing once you reach the ridge, there are no fences so walk at your own risk. We did not attempt the path beyond the lighthouse due to the muddy conditions but all viewpoints were stunning. Movie fans would enjoy the James Bond gravestone and homage. I would be wary of doing this if there is any rain as it was already quite slippery.
As you need to take the ferry from Klaksvik to get here, plan ahead and book if you are planning on taking the car. Bus is also available for those that are pedestrians on the ferry.

We were beyond lucky to have great weather (no rain & minimal wind) for this hike. Absolutely breathtaking - it was a dream come true! Hiking boots are a must. Lots of sheep and green grass. Perfection!

Amazing view, must see at Faroe Island, we visit it late afternoon and sun lights was very nice. It will take around 2h for full trip

Beautiful nature!
Just a lot to overflow!
A hiking fee of 200 DKK is in my opinion not appropriate for this place and far too expensive. Unfortunately, nothing is done about the “paths” or rather shaft tramp paths that are trampled by the crowd. The destroyed “paths” do not make it easy and are difficult to walk on because they are not consolidated.
TOO bad for such a well advertised place.

An island and a hike to the magic lighthouse
The path winds up to the lighthouse and ridge even nicer with good weather.The path is very muddy in places
The ride has become paid
View of the surrounding islands a place where one has trouble from an end of the world impression.I recommend .The villages of the island of kalsoy are to be seen
Small bar at the beginning of the hike otherwise in the village small caravan l we find snacks card jam rhubarb but a welcome unfortunately not very smiling that day.

To get to the island of Kalsoy, it is necessary to take the ferry to Klaksvík (timetables available on the internet, I attach them to my review).
We went there on 12/30/23, without reserving seats and had no problems with access on the way there or back.
Once on the island, a twenty-minute journey takes you (via 4 narrow one-way tunnels) to Kallur.
Access is paid, but having gone out of season, there was no one there so we did not pay.
The trail, however, is not maintained.
The flow is on the hillside with stages no wider than a foot, very muddy.
Then, a rising flat leads to the lighthouse: in winter there were numerous patches of ice.
Once arrived at the lighthouse, the wind was blowing very strongly and the path leading to the photo spot is on a ridge (potentially dangerous because of the wind).
That said, the country is magnificent with the cliff plunging into the sea and forming a cove.
In the distance, the view of Esturoy is very beautiful.
Another path leads to James Bond's grave, in homage to the film "No Time to Die" where the final scene was filmed.

Today we walked the Kalsoy Lighthouse Route. once at the top a spectacular view. only the way there involved slipping and sliding on a sheep path, with many slides. The one thing that bothers me most is that you have to pay the farmer to walk through his pasture. 2 adults and 1 child is 500 Danish kroner, which is almost €70, while a return ferry ticket costs half that. a smart farmer who places a gravestone of 007 on top of the mountain and then asks money for it. (by the way, James Bond has never been there)

Special place and worth the hike for truly memorable views. There is sadly a but... which means only 4 stars...minimal maintenance to paths or bridges to help the walker tackle steep and at times very slippery narrow trails, despite charging us 200 Kr each to visit. Lets hope they are saving up all that money to help protect this special place for future walkers.

Honestly, the island is worth it since there are two of the most emblematic attractions on the island. However, prepare yourself well for organizing your trip.
First of all outside high season, you will not be able to go there by car and it is better not because it is relatively expensive, favor the bus on site, but once again it will be organization because the times are not at all flexible.
Stop first at Mykadalur (mermaid village) then try to take a taxi to reach Trollanes for the lighthouse trek (save time because believe me, you don't want to stay 8 hours on the island or risk being sleep there given the price offered)
Once at the fare trek take out your 25€, in itself it's not expensive if we compare to Drangarnir which is a shame, the problem is that it's purely down to the greed of the manager because the road to get there is extremely bad, almost a rhizome circuit no wider than a step and very muddy, once close to the fare (allow 30 minutes to reach it), it is very steep and rather dangerous due to the high wind that can prevail there , so be very careful especially for the elderly.
In short, excellent trek but damn... this price is only to satisfy the owner and nothing else because there is nothing really marked in good condition and the state of the path is lamentable, during the trek there had the manager who did a guided tour where they paid 250€ per person without paying for the trek so 275€.. that's expensive..
Sincerely I highly recommend that trek but safely prepare your trip there especially out of high season due to bus and boat schedule, sometimes you will not be able to order ticket online too and it would be full..
Go there without your car and take the blue bus it's cheap and stop at Mykadalur for the mermaid statue than you can try to share a taxi to Trollaness for the trek, prepare your wallet for 25€ and have a good time there for 30 min, it's not that expensive if it was to preserve the area from tourist but the field is very muddy and poorly managed, just enough space to easily walk and many meters, so that's only for greedy of the owner, (he ask 275€ p/p for private tours).

How scary or dangerous is the path? I'm not so good with heights and on the photos it looks very narrow, steep and scary to me. What's it like?
