Lake Cave was absolutely stunning. From the cave entrance to the history, our family thoroughly enjoyed the tour and we learnt a lot

We chose Lake Cave after reading various reviews and were not disappointed. It is smaller than many caves we have visited but its beauty is stunning and shown without coloured lighting which is a bonus.
Our guide Kate was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
A great tour!

Reasonable level of fitness needed given lots of stairs but this is common with most WA caves
Brilliant displays of limestone
Book in go visit great experience

I organized a group tour with Lave Cave this August, Emily was our tour guide and was very informative and included everyone in her presentation. Emily's knowledge of the history was well presented, and everyone enjoyed the tour and Learn'd a bit more of the area.
I can highly recommend the tours as all the staff are so friendly and helpful.

Tour was great. Lots of great limestone formations to view. Just a pity that at the end the guide didn't turn all the lights on in the cave, so everyone could get an awesome photo with the reflections in the lake. Allow more time for this visit. Cave tour is 1 hour but you need to allow time to walk to the start and then back up the many stairs to the top again.

Wow. What a fantastic tour. This was a group of 10 people including five children and an infant. Our tour guide could not have been more personable, funny, interesting and engaging. She was truly passionate about the cave and the kids in our party were so fascinated and engaged by her commentary. Thank you for a wonderful morning and a highlight of our time in Margaret River!

Lake cave is a unique experience. I have been in other caves, but this one is the most spectacular. Our tour guide Garry the Kiwi, was just the best, Knowledgeable and fun, he made the experience special. The suspended table formation in photo is something to behold. This is a special cave in a special part of the world. Go see it.

This is our first time visiting a cave and Josh, our guide, made it a very pleasant and memorable one. He was funny and explained very clearly on the different formations… big plus was he took v pretty pictures for us.
The sinkhole entry may seem daunting initially but there were a few sections to the stairs and hence a little a time allowed us to get accustomed . Once into the cave, its a whole new world - incredibly beautiful!
There are a few caves in the area. This is apparently the most beautiful but deep - 62meters or 325 steps down.

The guide was great with the introductory. Cave experience was good. Managed to capture plenty of photos. Location was easy to find with ample parking space

Yes. There are lots of stairs to get down to the cave and then you climb them
back up.
There’s only one part of the stairs you go backwards so you don’t bang your head.

Hello we are planning to visit lake cave this weekend along with our 7 weeks old baby....is it advisable to bring such a small baby along...? And what's the temperature down there is it really cold for the baby??
Skrevet 24. august 2017
1.Temperature is quite constant all year round inside the cave. 2.The air quality is not bad compare with other "dry" cave as this one has water running through it. However the path going down into the cave is quite narrow and tricky, unless you are physically very fit, I would NOT recommend to carry a young baby into this cave.

Hi, I only did the two caves, Mammoth and Lake. The Lake cave is 325 steps down, some steep with breaks in between. There was a lady of 80 doing this climb with the group. The mammoth is a lot easier but not as spectacular as the Lake and you can exit through the entry rather than the 160 steps on the exit side. Take water but in a back pack as you need two hands on the Lake Cave climb. :)

Is the space very confined? I'm referring to as confined as Cu Chi tunnel in Vietnam. A little claustrophobic here.
Skrevet 7. juni 2017
I could never go into those tunnels but I am fine with these caves. I too am claustrophobic.

Hi there, is this too much for a family with 2 children (3 and 4 years old)?
Is the walking journey all over?
Skrevet 2. april 2017
The Lake is the smallest of the caves so once inside you will do very little walking (less than 100 m) and no manoeuvring and ducking to get to the end of the cave. The Jewel is the opposite. It's huge and heaps of walking once inside but is very beautiful.
To do the Lake, you do however need to climb down ( and then up), some 350 steps, but they are easy. There are handrails and lots of landings and seating on the way down and up, and the steps are wide.
The tour guides are great as they give you ample time to make it to the bottom ie done at your pace.
I have 3 grand children that age, and I wouldn't hesitate, I would take them with me.
On our tour there were a number of people who I thought would struggle due to either age or weight, but they did it easily.
Skrevet 3. april 2017
Hi can you tell me If the steps have handrails and are well lit?
Skrevet 16. mars 2017
How much would it cost for 2 adults and 3 children (15 yrs, 12 yrs and 9 yrs)?
Skrevet 2. januar 2017
Not sure about kids, but it's the best cave to see especially with the light show and the lake inside the cave system, you can't really experience the cave just by looking from the observation deck. Believe me it's truely remarkable once inside, we had kids on our tour down there and they were absolutely astounded with the cave
Skrevet 4. januar 2017
Is Lake Cave too hard fo 4&9 year old? Too many steps? How long is average walk time/distance from entrance to exit route
Skrevet 25. desember 2016
Sorry but I did not actually go into Lake Cave as I had run out of time.
Tour Prices
Adult: $22.50

Family (2 adults + 2 Children): $58.00

A you can see they have family passes so children must be able to cope okay
Skrevet 28. juli 2017
