It costs 100 RMB, which is three times the price of the Municipal Museum. It's all video art, which I didn't like. It's also small. There is a museum shop.

The exhibits were under the theme "hello, human" which was artificial intelligence related. While the exhibits were a bit too complex for my child, he did love "outing" which was actually a ping pong table. We went on a weekday afternoon so we were able to play for long periods.
There was also a playroom and we did some arts & crafts.
The Cafe offered yummy pizza and waffle.
A cozy afternoon for mother & child.

I walked from the MRT Zhongshan Station to the Contemporary Museum. It was a great afternoon on a nice weather day!
Tickets for the exhibition are not expensive, and a small amount of money can fill the entire afternoon~
It is very close to CNR and Zhongshan business district. It is very convenient to go to both places for eating and shopping after the exhibition trip.
I like the environment here very much, and the exhibition experience is very comfortable. Some exhibitions also provide guided tours, so you can have a deeper understanding!

Depending on the current exhibitions, your experience may vary. The art exhibitions there were very abstract and confusing at times.

MOCA is housed in a former school, which later became the headquarters of the Taipei City Government, until it relocated in 1996. MOCA is a good venue for displaying contemporary art, which often requires lots of space. Unfortunately, MOCA often seems to be closed for refurbishing, so check on opening times before you go. Contemporary art is not everyone's cup of tea, but you will probably know if you like installations and other forms of contemporary art.

The Museum of Contemporary Arts, Taipei (MOCA) is housed in a building dating from the Japanese colonial era (1895-1945). It was later the headquarters of the Taipei City Government. Contemporary art often involves installations and paintings that may seem odd.

First off, the building in itself is a fantastic place to visit. I found the collection interesting and surprising, especially the exhibit on Hong Kong activism (back in January, when the tension was high). Inside, the space is large and it feels very natural to make your way through the different exhibits. I also received a free piece of cake in the lovely café!

Not too much to see and maybe it is "contemporary art," I've no talent to appreciate it. The internal decoration is kinda of shabby and advised to be repaired. I would like to say the entire architecture and this historical building is more attractive than the exhibitions.

This building is very lateral symmetry and the bricks are very pretty. If standing in front of this museum, the weather is good, it really makes your day!

Spending one hour for the building appreciation, for the exhibition, I'll say, just take a quick glance.

The Museum of Contemporary Arts (MOCA), Taipei fills a gap in Taipei's artistic offering. It's more contemporary than modern. The Museum has a number of intallations, varying from time to time. The building dates from the Japanese colonial era (1895-1945). Following Retrocession, it housed the Tapei City Goverment. It later housed MOCA. There are free audio guides and group tours. MOCA is closed on Monday. Best access is by MRT, Zhongshan Station, Red or Green Lines

MOCA building was built by the Japanese in 1921 during their rule from 1895 to 1945. It was later designated as a historical building and reopened as MOCA in 2001. The building features Corinthian columns at the front.

There is always a theme at this gallery, and this time it was nihilism which means total rejection of established laws and institutions; the belief that life is meaningless: an exhibition of nihilistic art- a complete oxymoron.

In the past the museum featured fabulous sculptures and artists from around the world and I always enjoyed coming here. This time the exhibit was extremely depressing and diametrically opposite to my own view of life. I was so happy to leave.

Most of the rooms you entered, had black fabric for doors which you pushed aside to get in. Inside the little rooms there was a bench for you to sit and watch a seemingly meaningless video. Some rooms had earphones to explain things but I wasn’t interested as the images were not interesting at all.

It seemed to me that all exhibits were a cheap way to pretend about something that really wasn't there nor meaningful. I remember 6 years ago how great it was to feature famous artists from around the world. I felt as if I had wasted my entire time that day, looking to find the museum first, then spending what time I had there. The only interesting thing was the video of the history of MOCA ground level.
