I have never seen anything this beautiful in my life. Indrahar pass is a moderate to difficult trek starting from Dharamshala to Triund to Snowline Cafe to laka got and finally indrahar pass. The summit is at a 14000 around height and takes around 4-5 days to reach the zenith. The weather up there is too unpredictable as we received rainfall, sunlight and snowfall all at once. The temperature dropped down to minus degrees one morning and it was a scary hailstorm but yet a breathtakingly beautiful sight to witness. Plan the trip meticulously thinking about the aclamatisation as well.

The intermediary level 4day trek to Indrahar Pass was successful and highly memorable for our family, of two adult children and a (very fit) senior citizen parent.
As in most treks the guide places a crucial role. We would like to commend our guide Sohanlal for being so good!! Never spoke too much or too little. Gave good information on difficulty and time taken for distances. Was capable to taking on our backpacks when needed (at an extra charge) to speed us up. And was very well versed with the terrain and route.
The trek itself was laid out quite well. Except the last day (4) which felt like the biggest stretch, was too much for us especially after day 3 which was the biggest challenge. The camps were well organised and the arrangements were smooth. The sleeping bags were warm, very crucial. The tent equipment was new. Support staff was friendly and provided the best food possible at those extreme altitudes.
I would recommend that illaqa camp be moved further up to shorten the distance covered on day 3. However I also understand the restrains of the terrain, etc.
In the end the trek made us feel quite accomplished and was a time for family bonding

I trekked from Gallu Devi temple to Triund ( the first camp) . Awesome view of the Dhauladhar mountains. Though some unruly trekkers from nearby states have put a lot of garbage and spoil the environment with blaring music where they should only listen to the music of the nature!! The place offers a breathtaking view of the entire range. The trek till Triund is relatively easier but a long one ( almost 9 kms) . It may take anywhere between 4-6 hrs . Next stop from Triund to Lahesh caves or Laka Got , is shorter but steep one . Almost takes 4 hours . From this place, you can camp and then go to the Indrahar Pass if the weather permits .
Words of caution: No streams on the way. Carry empty bottles and get them refilled at the tea shops where they sell filtered water @ 20 Rs/Lit. No medical facility or horses on the way. Food is available only at the tea shops on the way. Worth a visit for sure.

We were 4. Planned to start at 9 am from Galludevi temple, but start at 2 pm due to our ola outstation driver(he took almost 16 hours to reach Dharamshala from Delhi). We reached Triund in 2 hours and in next hour we were in Snowline cafe. Next morning we started at 5 am and reached Indrahar pass in 4.5 hrs. It was really tough to go to top from snowline cafe and come back again in 1 day. If anyone stay at Ilaqa Goat or near lahesh cave it will be little easy. Anyway view from the top was awesome. We stay there for 1 hour and came back to snowline cafe in 5 hours. Please try to take raincoat with you as we were experienced rain without raincoat. Next day morning we came back to Galludevi temple in 3.5 hrs.
You can complete this trek without guide in 4 days as you will get arrow sign up to Indrahar and tent, food all are available (but costly). But if you want to complete the trek in 3 days like us then you should take guide. For cheap offer you can directly contact our guide Mahinder 9736524853/8219752840. He is young, very energetic and knowledgeable.

You may get a four wheeler till the base of Triund, The first camp on the way to Indraharpass.
However I would recommend walking from McLeodgunj, if you are planning to go till Indrahar, walking a few more kilometres will not make a big difference.
Can we trek to indrahar pass without a guide?

Yes, you could.
As a frequent hiker, I saw and expected a well worn trail till Triund (base 1). Same applies for Illaqa (base 2) However to travel without a guide till the top is not recommended. They know the terrain and dicy spots.

I missed the other part of your question. last you can tent is laka region which is quite far from Indrahar and its very cold . there is a last shop close to laka who also offer tented accommodation. but shop near laka provides v basic food options and water you need to source from ice stream. choice is yours. and mind it it rains every day there and hailstorm is common too :) do let me know if you still have query.

How is the situation for facilities like washrooms etc. during the trek?

no wash room . you need to use nature around.at Triund you may find some but not anywhere else.
same for water. bottled water only available at triund and snowline cafe . beyond snowline cafe you need to drink from melting ice stream if you are not carrying your own
