This was our second visit here to this National Trust property (our last visit was in April last year). Today, despite being very early February, it was a gorgeous sunny day. The garden here is quite small and an hour, to an hour and a half, is all that is required to see everything. We were, in that time, treated to some lovely displays of snowdrops and an extensive displays of budding purple crocuses. Some crocuses were already in flower, but the majority of the displays were showing either no colour, or just a glimpse of colour; but no blooms (as yet). We have resolved to revisit soon to view what promises to be a wonderful sight.
I would add that the NT website had reported that there were no refreshments available, and indeed the cafeteria was closed-up with the access door cordoned-off. We could see through the cafeteria windows that furniture was not set-out, and there were still boxes of supplies unpacked. We couldn’t see any servery, so we guess that is not yet delivered, let alone put-together.
We then noticed there was a sign a few yards away pointing to refreshments served in a nearby mobile café, with some very convenient bench seating on an adjacent lawn. We did comment, to the young lady serving, about the website inaccuracy. She said that she had asked for the website to be updated. We would point-out that the reports of a lack of refreshments may put-off some potential visitors.
In passing we would say that we have noted that website accuracy for some NT properties is sometimes incorrect or incomplete. Certainly we have wasted, occasionally long, journeys, to go to a place shown as open, only to find it was closed.
Our second visit of this February took place just over three weeks later. It was a short visit and we were in and out within 20 minutes, having seen a truly impressive display; a veritable living carpet of pale purple; blooming marvellous!

A stunning garden with themed 'garden rooms' each offering a delightful experience. Wonderful water gardens, scented roses, arboretum, orchard and a picnic area. A real delight.

Parking is across from the entrance in some spaces next to the Village Hall or, if full, a little further down the lane to the left.
A map of this place is 50p in addition to entrance which is unusual.
Its a small garden but has some endearing features. Worth a visit if a little expensive tbh.

A lovely NT garden just outside of Bath. There are lots of hidden benches amongst the flower beds which make a lovely spot for reading. With the garden made into 'rooms' there is a different feel in different areas of the garden. It's quite a small place but I spent about 3 hours as I was reading and had some lunch on the picnic benches, I think if you were just wondering around it would be about an hours visit

You could easily spend a quite a few hours here, it’s very peaceful and not that many visitors. Plenty of seats and benches to sit down and picnic tables. There is a cafe but it was closed when we visited. The parking is just opposite in the village hall car park. We are National Trust members so we did not have to pay. It is £10 for an adult to enter.

Gorgeous gardens full of beautiful flowers, shrubs and trees. Every aspect of this garden was creative and interesting, we especially loved the lily ponds, clipped yew hedges and the wildflower areas. The gardens are full of bees, butterflies and birds - so so English country garden, bliss!

We were first recommended to visit The Courts Garden, at the end of last-year’s season. As a consequence we waited throughout the winter closure. The opening date in early February this year, coincided with a change in the weather (for the worse after an unusually sunny January); thus causing more delays to our planned visit. Then much of March and early April were dull, wet and windy, so yet again the cause of delays.
Finally today, in mid-April, we managed to visit and, as a consequence, the floral displays were well advanced with an abundance of, notably, Tulips, late Daffodils, Bluebells, Glory of the Snow, and some very small blue flowers that we couldn’t identify. There was also Apple Blossom in abundance, and some gorgeous early leafed Acers (a personal favourite borne out by the fact that we have seven acers in our own gardens).
Here at the Court Gardens gardens are laid-out as 'garden rooms' at the behest of the wife of a former owner. This work was a project in the early years of the 20th Century. The whole area covers seven acres being a mixture of woodland with many varieties of trees, plus lawns, (with topiary hedging, and floral borders), and an extensive water garden with pools and a small very photogenic, but functional, ornamental footbridge.
There is a house in the garden, but it is closed-up and mostly unused: one wonders why? At the back of the house there is a room open to allow picnickers to sit at tables and have shelter.
This utterly charming site is soon to be furnished with a café, but at the moment there isn’t one. I hope that once open it will look-out on what are captivating views full of structure and colour.
There is no onsite carparking but there is a carpark within a 2-3 minute walk behind the Village Hall in ‘The Midlands’ a road on the opposite side of the main street, from the entrance to the Courts Garden.
