Zion is crowded, but the shuttle makes everything a lot easier. While you are on the shuttle, the driver plays recordings that tell you a little about the history of the area. One of our drivers stopped a couple of times to point out cool features along the way. He had a lot of great information. Before each stop, either the driver or a recording would tell you what was located there, a bit about the trails, and other helpful information.
The shuttles come fairly often, and there were several running, so--other than at the entrance (shuttle stop 1), we didn't have to wait long at all to board one.

We did not have a problem getting a shuttle the entire day and it’s so much better than hunting for parking at different points like at Arches. The other riders were polite and the drivers did a great job.

We made the mistake of going July 4th weekend. The lines were huge and while the park struggled to keep up, it was a 2 hour wait (we timed it) to get onto the shuttle and you can't get into the park without using them. I will say the drivers and rangers were very nice about it.

Since we had never been to the Park before, we took the shuttle bus through the park, first thing in the morning. It gave us a chance to determine what stops to return to on another shuttle to explore in more detail.

But says it runs every 10 to 15 minutes. We waited 45 minutes for the first bus he didn’t that being said he never made it. We have now waited another 40 minutes. I had two buses and came by that says they’re out of service. The bus shuttle service is horrible. Been waiting to get on the bus for most two hours. We want to stop nine, which is the first bus stop coming up the hill.

You must ride the shuttle to access the Zion Scenic Drive and the many hikes and trails there. It also takes you to Zion Lodge. You can hop on and hop off and the shuttle is free. So park your car and ride the shuttle.

The shuttle is practically mandatory to see Zion Canyon. If you are a guest of the lodge as we were, you can drive a personal car there but you can go no further. With that said the shuttle is not bad with timely pickups and drop offs at all the best sights in the canyon. Additionally, you can take it to Springdale and with the exception of a short walk across the Virgin River visit any part of the town. We spent a day is Zion with continuous rain, so the shuttle was a great way for us to go into Springdale to have lunch and shop. Again it will be a part of your Zion experience so plan now for it to be an asset and not a problem.

We were there Memorial Day weekend, so I'm not sure if they had extra shuttles running or not. Just make sure you're there early and your wait will be minimal.

There are 9 stops so plan accordingly. Rode from stop 4 to 9 (where everyone needs to get off) and hiked the trail. On the way back, the shuttle stops at every stop. It comes every few minutes but fills up fast.

ザイオン国立公園はビジターセンターに車を置いて、
シャトルで観光と聞いていたので、
車を使えない分、多少の不便さは覚悟していましたが、
無料でかつ頻繁に走っていて、不自由さは感じませんでした。
ただ、終点からナローズまでは結構歩きます。

Hello. I’m visiting Zion from out of state for my birthday. I’m visiting the park tomorrow, August 3, and Tuesday, on my birthday, August 4. I didn’t believe we needed a shuttle ticket as we planned on bringing our car to drive through. However, now I am seeing that a ticket may be needed? I hope my boyfriend and I are still able to visit tomorrow and Tuesday as we drove from far away to get here. Can you please help me?

Is the shuttle worth the 90 minute ride just for sight seeing, or should we just drive Highway 9? We are not planning on doing any hiking unless it is a very short distance.

I’m a photographer (as many are who visit Zion) and my question regarding the shuttle is getting out after the shuttles stop running. Is it possible to venture by private vehicle at around midnight to get some star trails over Court of the Patriarchs?

The shuttle stops to early for that kind of photography, I’m planning on staying inside the park for a chance to get some of these. I was going to get some night shots while staying outside the park but too much light pollution. Check park hours but I’m not sure about driving up the canyon without a pass for the lodge.

we are driving from vegas on a saturday morning and planning on spending the night in springdale - is it better to do Zion when we arrive saturday before checking in at the hotel? Or better to wait and start early in the morning after checking out of hotel and spend the whole day at the park?

The previous reply to your questions was quite good. I advise you to get to the park as early as possible before checking into the hotel (which will be there when you're finished touring) and go back in the morning after checking out. Depending upon the crowds, which lessen later in the afternoon, you'll be able to see many of stopping points and even catch the sunset. The next morning you can get there early and get to see the remaining places you may have missed. Happy travels.
