This was an excellent place to take both Children and adults alike - linked to a rather lovely little tea house and restaurant, it offered very good value Sunday Lunches etc. However, it now appears to have passed on after being sold to new owners - shame, as it offered something for families of all ages.

Having a young kids birthday party planned for the park but the weather changed we decide to meet a lathe barn it was a pleasant surprise the indoor play area is good for little one (3 years old) and even though the weather wasn’t great the staff were more than happen to put the train and other rides on for us. Little kids would like this but older ones will get bored easily. There is a tea room right next door but was told that is closing very soon which is a shame as a cup of coffee goes down well when you walk around in the cold

We took 9 children aged 18 months - 3 years and bought our tickets through the Groupon deal. The guy on the entrance desk was super friendly and very informative. The children loved getting in with the rabbits and guinea pigs, riding on the train and the fair ground rides, climbing, sliding and digging in the sand pit. Driving the tractors and go kart too! There is an indoor soft ply area too but it was such a lovely day we didn’t venture inside.

We went today, £2 per adult, £6 per child over 2 so it didn’t cost us much to get in. There just isn’t a lot to do there - the miniature train was out of action - our main reason of visiting - however this wasn’t known to us until we had paid and were inside, seeing the sign.
There are rabbits, guinea pigs, pot bellied pigs, goats, chickens and sheep. My 5 year old loved the combine harvester play park. There are two rides to go on but we had to hunt down the worker to operate them and ask to go on them, he then let the kids on without speaking to anyone, no safety instructions and not even checking their seatbelt was on. The play barn is good but really for 4 and under I would say, my son was bored of it in less than 5 minutes (although had there been other kids more his age he probably would’ve made friends and had more fun!) there’s go karts and toy tractors to ride on.
Gift shop is cheap and the craft shop was good. The gift shop does take away hot drinks for £1 which was great. We had lunch in the tea room afterwards which was brilliant.
We had done everything at the farm within an hour

Took our 2 year old to lathe barn for the first time, wasn’t sure what to expect after hearing it had changed hands but was very pleasantly surprised.
Easy to find on the drive over, with plenty of parking. The entry prices are very reasonable and the man in the shop was very cheery on entry.
Our son enjoyed seeing all the little animals - although there aren’t many of them there were enough for him to enjoy. The play area was good with big and little go karts and the fair ground rides, which although they were old they were free to get on which is great for the kids. My son also particularly enjoyed the sandpits and the fact there were actually buckets and spades! The inside play area was also very good and quiet (the whole place was fairly quiet while we were there).
We ate in the tea room which was busy but well managed, friendly staff and fairly reasonably priced for good food.
Would recommend to all with younger children. Not sure my 10yr old would have been so impressed but for younger ones definitely.

We went here last week with our grandson aged 7 and had a wonderful morning here all for £10. There were about 10 types of animals, random play equipment outside, a sandpit, a big wooden structure, diggers, 2 x rides ( a caterpillar and a vehicle one), non-electric carts to ride on and an indoor play area. The whole place is just "simple fun" and we loved it. Nice coffee and the craft area outside was super. We took photos of him without being told off too!

I needed something to do with my young daughter while my husband was in a business meeting nearby. Found Lathe Barn. What a great place. My daughter ran around doing everything & it was small enough to let her roam safely yet plenty to keep her amused. The young lad operating the rides was sweet & opened each ride in succession & all the little ones just followed him like a pied piper. Ice creams weren’t a rip off either. Can’t wait to go back. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because of the toilets. They were filthy. But I know they have new owners so perhaps the loos are on their list. Thanks for a great day out and please don’t change (except the loos - you can change them)

Took 3 children aged 2, 5 & 6 and they had a great time. The play barn,animals and go karts are much the same but there are new additions of a train running on a track plus two roundabout rides and the rides are free, amazing! The children played on everything available to them and had such space to run about freely. The chap operating the rides was excellent with the children. He went from ride to ride when the children asked and made sure all the children were securely strapped in before starting the ride. We understand the new owners have plans to improve the facilities and we wish them much success. It's a super place to bring children.

Family outing yesterday to Lathe Barn (2 Grandmothers; 1 Mother; & two toddlers). Reasonable price (£2 each for the adults; under 2 year old free; £6 for 2.5 year old - used Groupon voucher to reduce the price).
The children had great fun with the animals; riding the little train; playing with the various outdoor toys/ equipment.
Then we went into the soft play area where they let off more steam.
We had lunch (good sized jacket potatoes with one topping plus small salad for £6 each) in their restaurant.
All in all a good day. However, I would urge the management to clean the soft play area which was very dusty (especially in the corners & difficult to clean areas) & to check the safety of some of the toys in the soft play area (rubber grips on scooter handles badly worn & exposing sharp metal edges). Also to look at a clear division between the soft play area & the tables / chairs to avoid parents walking on the soft rubber matting with their dirty shoes.

Went with my 2 and 1 year olds and they had a wonderful time seeing the animals, playing in the indoor and outdoor play areas and riding the train. Animals are all very healthy and happy looking which is great to see and the kids were at the perfect age to enjoy all of the activities on offer. Have come before and would absolutely come again, definitely recommend stopping by if you have kids under 5 and are in the area, thank you!
