Always a favorite place to visit. Stunning architecture and extremely friendly staff. I’ve eaten here many times over the years and never disappoints. Lovely meal poolside on Monday best burgers on the island 🍔 a must for all seeking delicious comfort food. It’s been a few years since I’ve dined in the main dining room but arguably the best food and casual luxury on Nevis.

Spent 2 weeks on Nevis and this was the best dinning experience we had. Beautiful ambiance, staff were lovely and the meal was excellent.

We spent the day driving around Nevis so this was one of our stops , please don't miss it if you do visit. Although Nevis is small there is lots of history and culture and clearly if you speak with a local they share stories with pride. We also ate lunch here which was as equally enjoyable. Make sure to walk around and bring your camera because it has lots of places for great shots!!

Looks and feels very upmarket, but its certainly not 'stuffy', it feels like home and beautiful surroundings and great people. Just a word of warning! theirs a barman called 'Kaddy' he makes the best rum punch on the planet, try one thats fine, try two and you will be dancing on the ceiling!!! Hi Kaddy we will be back next year for sure lovely to meet you, a good friend.

On our tour around the island by private local taxi we also stopped by Montpelier House after visiting the excellent Botanical Gardens. This is now a hotel, belonging to the 'Relais & Chateaux'-chain, but its grounds can be visited by non staying guests, since this is quite a historical place. As it says on a sign Horatio Nelson got married here to Fanny Nisbet, daughter of a local landowner.
One can walk around, admire the big weeping fig, the sugar boiling tower and the views to attractive Mt.Nevis.

We stayed and ate here. This was our second visit and it was as fantastic as the last. The food is amazing, the staff and service is great. Thank you Montpelier for another great relaxing holiday.

Visited Montpelier 4 years ago on a tour of Nevis and was determined to stay next chance I had. My impressions on that first visit were not only correct, but exceeded once I was able to spend a few nights there. Nestled on the side of Mt. Nevis 750 Feet above sea level with a view of the Caribbean on one side and the volcano on the other, the feeling of otherworldliness never ceases. The skyscape is beyond description. At first hiding the volcanic peak then moments later revealing it in crystal clear repose over and over again. Each time differently and just as mesmerizing as the first. Your eyes never tire no matter where they gaze around this property. The landscaping is gorgeous as are the remains of the old sugar mill and the beautiful Ficus tree that greet you upon entering through the old gate. The cottages are perched amidst lush gardens and volcanic rock tucked into the landscape. A troop of Vervet Green Monkeys would occasionally make an appearance to forage around our cottage ( #2 ). The buildings from the Sugar Plantation form the main great room with areas for dining, having afternoon tea, or just relaxing with a good book. The pool sits alongside an open dining area with an attractive bar. Their Rum Punch is addictive. Not sweet like most and topped with local Nutmeg and a slice of lime. Stand in the pool with that while watching the clouds dance around the peak of Mt. Nevis and try to imagine wanting to be anywhere else. The people staffing the retreat are wonderful and make you feel as if you could be experiencing a bygone era. If this all sounds like a dream, maybe it was. But I swear I was there.

If you come here it is worth a look but will only take fifteen minutes or so , most of the property is off limits unless you are a guest of the hotel . The tree in front is pretty cool and big fo being so young , the big stone mill is now a place with two tables to dine in . Other then those two things that is about all you can do it .

Come for the delicious food but also wonder the grounds, see the great design and style of the buildings and maybe even book yourself a spa day.
We were there for lunch and it was very tasty.
The only downside was when we were reminded to tip before we'd even signed the check. We're from New York, we know to tip... also, you already have a 10% service charge on the bill, if we tip over that then it will be at our discretion and not because you intimidate us into it.
Just soured my memory of the beautiful surroundings and the great food a little. That's all.

It was included in our taxi fare for an island tour. We did not have a detailed tour of the premises but walked around and enjoyed a pina colada
