I enjoyed visiting the zoo very much. There were so many different species to see. The snacks were good and inexpensive. The restrooms were very clean.

Safety and cleanliness were indeed pleasantly and efficiently provided at the zoo. Small groups were socially distanced, the walkways were clearly identified and there was a wide array of local and foreign animals, fishes, birds and reptiles on display. It's a great venture to support, and consistently improving with all of the additional attractions.

Interacting with the Giraffe and Lamma were the most fun events there. The kangaroos were so chilled and laid back

We as a family visited that zoo around Easter time last year and omg it was s much fun the monkeys are very funny just don't feed them lol they tease you a lot and make weird fa as that'll truly brighten your day . Noe the zoo itself isn't big but it's a nice way of getting to see what we have to offer in trinidad for our people and it's visitors ...

Within recent years the zoo has improved dramatically, in addition to gaining new attractions the facilities are constantly being improved. Alot of maps placed on walk paths ensure, you know where you are, lots of seating and clean bathrooms are some of the fantastic amenities. The animals are well tended and the enclosures are cleaned frequently. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and willing to share their knowledge about their animals. It is a lovely zoo that is really always trying to improve. Always worth a visit!

The Emperor Valley Zoo, situated in very close proximity to the Queen's Park Savannah has done several upgrades and made major improvements since the last time I had visited a few years ago.
To be more specific it is North of the Savannah and West of the Botanic Gardens in Port of Spain
The fees are as follows :
Adults TTD 30.00 or average USD 5
Children TTD 15.00 or average USD 2
Parking TTD 20.00 or average USD 3
Opening hours - 9.00 am to 6.00pm (Sunday to Sunday)
The cleanliness of the zoo is impeccable.
The animal cages were extremely clean too and no area was 'smelly'.
The washrooms were also kept at high standards in terms of its cleanliness.
There are two(2) cafeterias with snacks, food and drinks.
Posters of some animals' feeding times are stuck up so if you wanted to feed the giraffe for example, you are only required to purchase a pack of 2 biscuits for TTD 10.00 and you can take as many photos as you like.
Although the zoo is relatively small, you can see a combination of birds, fishes, sea lion or otter, lions, tigers, monkeys, turtles, flamingo, peacock, porcupine, wild hog, agouti, deer, parrots, toucan, alligator, zebra,
The newest attractions were the Giraffes, Kangaroos, Zebra, Llamas and White Tigers.
Work is still in progress and some monkeys were in rehabilitation.
If you are looking for somewhere to take the kids or you have a connecting flight with a little spare time, it will be worth the time.

Un zoo à l'ancienne où les animaux, même s'ils sont bien traités, n'ont que peu d'espace. La visite peut être faite en une heure.

The Emperor Valley Zoo is a small zoo but very well kept with a wide range of birds, snake and animals. It entails quite a bit of walking to the various levels but very pleasant with very tropical plants surrounding. Over the last few years, the zoo has acquired new animals and they now have 2 giraffe, white tigers, new lions, 1 zebra, 4 llama, kamgaroos, flamingo and many others. It is enjoyable for adults as well as children and you can easily spend 3 hrs there.

The zoo is small and a great way to kill a couple of hours. The zoo was very well maintained, clean and the animals were well cared for. The staff was very friendly and you could see their love of the animals. They had birds and reptiles being handled and shown so you could get close and pet them and take photos. It was I think $7.00 US to enter for an adult. I fed the giraffes I can't recall how much but it was only a few dollars. The restrooms were clean and the one I used was very well air-conditioned. The only thing I wished was for some of the animals to have a few more of their kind to be with them. I know it is a very small zoo but to see just 1 zebra and 1 baboon was sad knowing what social animals they are. We stopped at the snack bar and had some french fries and I had the best slushie orange/pineapple.

I visited the zoo a few months ago, I think it was around Easter, and I was pleased to see the efforts being made to add value to the Emperor Valley Zoo experience. Of course, i heard recently that some poachers had dropped off a jaguar, from possibly South america, and so I appreciate that they did the right thing, rather than kill the creature.
Be that as it may, one can appreciate easily the changes currently happening at the EMZ. It used to be a dull boring experience, but within recent times, such initiatives as the importation of the giraffes as well as the monkey enclosure and the updated tiger cages make the effort worth it. of course, areas of improvement are the alligator enclosure and the snake display is poor. One thing I want to suggest is the current fish enclosure be converted into a aqauarium like display. These can be as low level as those seen in some malls in the US or the less likely grand displays like the one at Seaquarium, but I am saying that I want to suggest where this can go. I think they were also supposed to bring in some hippos or rhinos.
Now as with all things, the one way to make money is in the food court. For God's sake, how long with the EPZ continue with the limited concessionaires? There is no kind of real food.. why not a recognised Royal Castle mobile Unit or a Rituals station - guranteed returns. Why can't there be a pholourie /alloo pie window?
I am however wowed by the skill, expertise and compassion of the zookeepers and animal handlers. and I thank them for their service. they must be recognised - from the people who clean up after the animals to those who administer medication and care.
of course, I think the population of local animals has dwindled.. as there are only a few deer and lappe and manicou and oceolot. You know in a country where we have the magnificent manatee and the curator of the zoo is a the head of the Manatee COnservation, it would be nice to recreate the Nariva space and have a manatee display.
Sincerely

The atmosphere and scenery of the zoo makes me love it. It is family friendly and there are lots of animals that you can view. I really love that the zoo allows anyone to pay for feed at a very affordable price and you are able to feed the giraffes and llamas. In my experience, I does be very eager to see the zoo keepers feed the various animals for examples the lions and otters. It's a place you can learn new things you did not know about the animals and see new animals. It's a very exciting and enjoyable place.
