Amazing water to swim. Road to reach it is a track and if it has rained in the past few days there will be big puddles to negotiate. Beach was quiet, just a few people and a couple of boats the first time. 2nd visit some people set up a bar and had really loud techo music so that made everyone leave, maybe that was their ploy haha. Gets very hot because the wind does not reach here so make sure to bring a hat and sunscreen.

This is an extremely gorges beach on the Caribbean side of Eleuthera. It’s a long expanse of fine sand. The water is very shallow so at low tide you can wade very far out, which makes it great for kids. The rear of the beach is lined with trees so it’s not too hard to find some shade. It’s a popular beach and there are some rental houses along it so don’t expect it to be completely empty. But it’s not crowded, especially if you’re willing to walk a couple hundred yards down from the parking area. There was also good snorkeling along the rocks to the left when facing the water. We saw a gigantic crab, friendly turtle, several stingrays, one large skate or ray, and several large schools of silver and white fish. The middle of the bay is all sand so good to see sand dollars but not a lot else.

The road to the beach is pretty rocky. It’s not paved. So make sure your rental Jeep or SUV has good tires.

This is the perfect beach for relaxing. Wide sand beach, at low tide sand bars appear. You can easily walk 100 yards and still be in only waste deep water. Sand dollars are abundant. If you want to snorkel, go to the right of the beach and swim out in front of the houses to the rocks beyond. Perfect place for sunset.

We had a wonderful time piddling around, looking for sand dollars. We saw 3 small sharks, close to the shore (it was around 9 am), as we were meandering about. Ten Bay would be a gorgeous place to just bring a blanket & some snacks and just hang out for the day. Not a ton of snorkeling (which I prefer), but the water was shallow quite a ways out. It was clear & beautiful with lots of trees to provide good shade.

The drive may be challenging at first as the beach is neither super close to Governor's Harbour, nor to Rock Island and once you make it here the first part of the offroad is pretty bad but do not get discouraged! It's only bad at the very beginning and later on the drive gets better - there are actually some personal residences at the end of this offroad so think of them using it on daily basis :)

The water here especially on the lower tide is extremely shallow and the sandbars exposed are a tone of fun to walk around even if you don't anticipate to stay here on the beach. We didn't find any sand dollars but there were plenty of sea shells :)

TIP: there are no restaurants in walking distance, not even a short drive so bring water and food with you if you are planning to stay here longer

This is probably one of my 10 favorite beaches ever, at least five of them are in Eleuthera. Try to go during low tide when the sand bars are out, the water is very warm and shallow for a long ways out. Excellent beach if you have kids. Very safe. Just watch for sea urchins.

we stopped by on our travels around the island on a very windy day- it was quite protected here from the wind and shade was available under the large trees. Kids were playing Volleyball on the beach-I would go back here most definitely.

Beautiful crystal clear water. Much calmer than the Atlantic side! On windy days we went to ten bay beach and it was like another world!! Bring some chairs, there are shade trees lining the shore. A busy day is 5 parked cars! Make a day of this beach for sure!!

If you have FOMO you should probably make a visit to Ten Bay Beach, even if you are staying on the beautiful French Leave Beach, like we were.

The top reasons to go:
- Beautiful clear, warm water
- Shallow water with sandbars
- Protected cove with no waves
- Pine trees lining the shore

We read that you can sometimes find sand dollars, starfish, and sea urchins. We only saw sea urchins on our visit. There are a lot of shells on the shore but mostly very weathered.

Ten Bay is not better than French Leave, just something different to do. I think it would be perfect with small children — though not more perfect than the natural shallow pool off the beach access road 1.6 km south east of Tippy’s.

People say that you can drive right to the beach on the paved road, and we saw some people doing it. I say if you don’t have a serious 4WD vehicle then it’s not worth it to avoid the 8 minute walk from the Queen’s Highway. Just park in the grassy area along the highway and walk the 650 m to the beach. The main challenges of driving are 1) rocks, 2) ruts, and 3) mud. You can see these hazards in the attached pictures. While much of the drive is just packed dirt, there are random large rocks in the tracks and ruts that make choosing your path challenging. There is also a lot of mud that feels like clay and was inexplicably still wet after 5 days of dry weather.

We found Ten Bay Beach on our trip to Eleuthera last week. It has several homes, but it wasn’t crowded. We enjoyed a peaceful time with much less wind than we had at our home on the eastern, Atlantic side.
The dirt road to the beach is marked with a sign that says “Beach Access”, but you you might not find it if you don’t have a map on your phone. Be prepared for a rough narrow drive for over a half mile to get to the parking area.
