This was the perfect last stop for our Wales road trip. The castle was beautiful and has two very pretty viewpoints which require a lot of stairs. The shop had a nice variety of things as well. So glad we stopped here!

the castle itself is fine but one of the staff was horrible,i asked my wife to ask if their was a toilet i could use [i have a medical condition]she was told yes,i asked where it was and was stopped by this person saying"have you paid" at this i had to say i have cancer as my wife was paying to get in. on returning the same person in the shop asked if she could help,[we required a price] and was told they are very expensive,at which i replied " do we look like paupers " at this point my wife took me out of the shop. A NOTE TO THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THE CASTLE..........SPEAK TO THE STAFF RE THIS.....THEY KNOW WHO SHE IS.

Lovely afternoon wondering around the castle plenty to see and read about. Shop well stocked with lots of lovely gifts and unusual items, the only downside is no hot drinks available, especially on a chilly day and all there is to get a ice cream or cold drink.

It might be a ruin, but there’s an awful lot to see at Raglan Castle! You can climb the Great Tower and recently restored Grand Staircase and get amazing views. There’s a moat, still full of water! Every area is labelled and it’s easy to imagine the comings and goings of long ago! A fantastic place to visit and highly recommended!

Generally castles are not my thing and got this visit via Sky VIP, but I was totally surprised at the castle and it’s history. I would have liked a bit more detail as I walked around but the ruins and panoramic views were superb. There are plenty of hidden rooms and walkways and places to sit down and absorb the buildings. It has a cafe but it was closed due to times but there were cold drinks and ice cream to get you by. Certainly a place of interest to take visitors

We visited this beautiful castle between the lockdowns at the end of last year, and it is just stunning.

We particularly enjoyed how it had largely been left in its original condition, including the demolished wall that was done deliberately to prevent the castle from being used as a defensive fortification.

Look out for the hundreds of years old graffiti in the main hall- odd how some things don't change!

On site toilets, beautiful surroundings and a charming gift shop. Definitely worth a visit, not just to this castle, but the many others littering this beautiful country!

We visited Raglan Castle today for free as part of Cawd’s open doors month. We were three adults and two young children and we had a brilliant time. The castle is a massive ruin, and the kids really enjoyed running around and exploring, climbing over the walls and into the rooms. It was so big and there was so much to see. You could climb up to two towers and there was great view of all the farm land. There were a couple of picnic benches where we had our lunch and a great little gift shop where the kids choose a few castle related gifts. It’s just a shame that the cafe was shut. Really good couple of hours.

Such a beautiful Welsh castle, sadly destroyed by avarice and hatred! Such a lot of history and so much to see. We will be returning as we don't live too far away. What a wonderful time looking through the different areas and imagining how people lived in such a time.

My wife is very much into the ancestry of our family, she recently discovered that William ap Thomas was my 15th Great Grandfather( think that’s right,I’ll have to check with her) so we decided whilst the weather was good to have a trip out to the castle.
It is extremely interesting, multiple layers of building work in its history, from when it was specifically a fortified building,to in later life ,having its top floors added for entertainment of all the gentry.
Really is very interesting, especially with the family ties. We that went to St.Mary’s priory in Abergavenny where Sir. Williams marble tombs are available to visit.
All in all an excellent interesting visit.
I will add,the castle is not really for young children,it is not generally safe for them to run round, which is too be fair obvious. Also, shame no cafe,we took a picnic( but had excellent fish and chips in Abergavenny) but would have been nice for a drink. I think, the cafe closed as a further result of the COVID hitting businesses.
Apart from that,all good.
