Although not large, St. Dogmaels market has a very good selection of high quality crafts and produce to suit most tastes.
I especially liked the jam & chutney stall and the one that made traditional Welsh dolls out of dolly pegs.
There is also quality meat and cheese on offer, plus soaps, candles, Welsh blankets, assorted plants and a doggy stall. I bought some pasties for lunch there and they were delicious. Really tasty.
Only open outdoors on Tuesday mornings. The ruined abbey nearby is worth a look & it situated close to Poppit sands too.

Loved this local market, selling high quality locally produced food and crafts. It was a joy to chat with friendly stallholders who could explain all about their products. We bought some gifts to take back home and delicious pasties for our picnic lunch in the ancient Abbey grounds with take away drinks from the coach house. Such a beautiful location with the millpond and working mill too.
St Dogmaels is a small village with the added benefit of being a short drive from Poppit sands - vast expanse of sand and dog friendly. Cardigan, the nearby market town with castle is also charming with many independent shops. The market is held every Tuesday morning from 9-1 - usually about 15-20 stalls. Park just up the hill opposite the post office, in the public carpark. Well worth a visit.

Saw this market advertised prior to our holidays, was very excited to visit it. Thought it would be a big market and like others, I paid the extra to park to walk around this 'market'.
The walk around took about 20 minutes, very expensive. Not many stalls at all, maybe 10-12 maximum.
Hint, the lady selling dog treats for £3 per bag or 3 bags for £8, the same dog treats by the same company are being sold in the coach house for £1 a bag! Found this out after paying £6 for 2 bags which annoyed me to say the least!
Very over hyped and expensive for what it is. Let down.

Suggested duration 1-2 hours gave us a false sense of the scale of the market. We parked in the high street and paid for an hour, thinking that the 30 minutes free wouldn't be long enough. Walked up to the market to find about 12 stalls, so it didn't take very long at all to get round. I bought a bar of solid hand cream from a very lovely woman who took the time to explain all about her crafts, she had some gorgeous hand stitched quilts which I very much admired but didn't have the money to buy unfortunately. We also bought some cakes which were delicious although a little on the pricey side, and some home made dog treats. There were plants for sale, a deli, and bread and flour from the local mill. These are the stalls I remember but there were a few more. Best to combine the visit with a walk around the Abbey and maybe call in at the cafe.

Although the market is small it is of a very high standard, great local bread and fish. There also were a couple of cheese and meat stands and a really nice pottery stall. The nearby cafe also does an excellent breakfast

Always worth a trip to this Welsh produce market - never disappoints. Honey & preserves are fabulous, goats cheese, bread (made from local flour) & tomatoes were perfect for a picnic on the beach later and some lovely pottery & photographs available too. Would advise you arrive early as parking can be difficult but worth any wait. Beautiful setting alongside St Dogmaels Abbey. Great cafe serving very nice coffee & cake which is Dog friendly too.

A very pretty location. Between the ruins of the Abbey, and the Abbey Duck/Mill Pond. (Free access)
Given it wasn't school holidays we were surprised at how busy it was. The queues at the stalls, and people stopping to chat, made it feel less Covid safe than we had expected it to be. Many food items sold out by 11.30, but managed a good haul of fresh veg, and cheeses. Keep an eye on their Facebook page to see which producers are turning up, and what you want to aim for first. We missed out on the veggie quiches that i knew would be there, and regret not having found that stall first.
Great selection of Stoneground flours from the St Dogmaels Watermill stall. I bagged the last bread available. (They do tours of the Watermill in action when we're not in a pandemic)
The Abbey cafe felt very Covid Safe, they were taking great care. Highly recommend the Almond Croissant. They obviously have a really good bakery that supplies them.

Worth a visit - sheep cheese, charcuterie, veg, plants, jams and chutneys, vegan food, photos amongst other stalls. Interesting to wander round, but expensive.
