Me and my 9 year old went here today with an Uncle of ours who lives in the area.
I simply typed "par 3 course" into Google looking for something near by while we were up here visiting family.
Because my lad is quite young and we don't always have the time in the day to dedicate to a full 18 we do these sort of courses quite regularly (well as regularly as we can). This is by far the best par 3 course we've ever been on. The greens weren't great, but to be fair we were playing the day after the first rain the area had seen in 2 months of record temperatures so I think they need to be given the benefit of the doubt.
Quite a lot of the time these courses are either boring flat things with a couple of dog legs clearly treat as an afterthought by the club, or the better ones are quite often very artificially sculpted; much better to play on, but not a massive challenge.
This course however really feels like each hole would not be out of place on a high standard 18. Very up and down, lots of challenges on the fairways and most of the greens and plenty of wood and water traps. Not silly hard, but it doesn't hand it to you on a plate either.
Not going to lie a few balls went missing, but it made the success all the better (I got a foot from the pin on the 5th and couldn't have been happier).
My lad thoroughly enjoyed it and was rightfully proud of achieving well today.
Our Uncle we came down with has wanted to play on here for a couple of decades, but it has quite and exclusive reputation and the opportunity never came up. He also couldn't have been happier and I'm pretty sure he'll be bringing my cousin down soon.
Since it was a par 3 course we didn't go full dress, but I'm pretty certain it would be expected on the 18. If you're looking for a good beginners course for younger players or just don't have time for a full 18 then I couldn't recommended it more.

Absolutely first class .. from arrival, well maintained car park, pleasant greeting upon arrival. One of the best club houses, a superb set up and then the golf course was in fantastic condition.. some of the more interesting holes I have played,

Played Wednesday 3 August the golf course great condition a credit to green staff the greens fast and true the weather could have been better but a great test of golf clubhouse brilliant

The course itself was in fantastic condition. Upgraded the decor in upstairs lounge to a very high standard. Food was fantastic as always - can recommend the 'larry burger'. Finally staff friendly and attentive can't ask for much more.

If you can hit it like John Daly...well okay Bubba Watson or Rory these days. then you might get on ok here. But for Seniors...its a nightmare! But the food when i was here was simply FANTASTIC. OK, it was several years ago, and perhaps its not the same chef, but it was like the best restaurant in town! But as far as the golf itself is concerned, it's 2 out of 5 for me.

Excellent food, friendly staff and very reasonably priced. Amazing fish and chips. Decor is basic, but the place was very clean. Drinks were very cheap. Will definitely go back.

Whitecraigs GC has a very good, helpful and friendly pro shop, the course is interesting and varied and generally in good condition, the changing rooms and showers are possibly the best in the Glasgow area, and the food is very good and reasonably priced with a nice view over the course, although the decor is a bit 1950's.

If you like a challenge, the two "plateau" holes are tough. Nothing like teeing off blind with only a marker to indicate if you're headed in the right direction.
