Free parking, entrance and the possibility of seeing great wildlife: Nene Washes is a good day out but definitely better when flooded, I imagine. Although the website indicates what birds can be seen during particular seasons, I didn’t see too many in the ditches I walked near to.

As well as wandering the Flood Storage system and soaking up some excellent sunlight on a bright day, I explored more grassland of the ‘sticks’ in this area of Cambridgeshire. Extremely picturesque with excellent photograph opportunities.

Definitely worth going to see when the area has flooded. Road is not passable from the Dog in the Doublet through to Whittlesey. The whole area is a lovely view.

Great place to walk dogs. At the Eldernall lane in Coates there is a proper car safe car park. It’s quite popular with bird watches as it forms part of a RSPB site

Used both Waze and google and both had me going around in circles. After an hour gave up and went elsewhere

We were really surprised at the amount of wildlife we saw, we are not expert bird watchers and had to look up some when we got home but we enjoyed watching birds we hadn't seen before and listening to the difference bird song and calls. There was also many sygnets that were just too cute.

Bird watchers keep an eye here for seasonal birds - and especially in colder weather or when there is a bit of flooding in the fens.

A wonderful habitat for wildlife and walking. Excellent in winter for wildfowl, waders and raptors but binoculars essential for identification, even better with a telescope. A place to experience to full blast of the winter climate. Wrap up warm.

A very sunny but blustery cold wind blowing. Just the job for a brisk walk. We walked for about 2 miles and saw a great deal of wildlife. We enjoyed this visit but I would guess not for folks who do not like the elements.

Lovely walk along a bank with views to the washes. Great for dog walking. Lots of wildlife......take your binoculars. Birds and mammals. Car park where serious birders set up their gear. Wrap up well in winter as pretty bleak and open.

We walked along part of the Nene Way, where it follows the embankment south of Morton's Leam. It was quite hard work as the path was diverted from the top of the embankment to lower down where it was pretty much overgrown and we found ourselves ploughing along through long grass, thistles and nettles. Evidently it isn't exactly a busy path; we saw only one couple on the path, plus some evidence of use by lazy dog walkers who don't clear up after their dog.
