The megalithic monuments are made of natural limestone boulders.
We were told by the volunteer that The Whispering Knight dolmen is 1000 years older than Stonehenge. The King's Men stone circle is the same age as Stonehenge at 5000 years. The King Stone is the youngest monument at 3000 years.
A relaxing walk around The Rollright Stones is a fabulous way to spend a few hours of your day.
Don't forget to walk into the serene forest area to check out the cool labyrinth! Just follow the foot path leading up to the wooden gate.
Why go to Stonehenge when this is here? You can avoid the tourists plus save time and money too!

If you live in the Midlands and you want to connect with the ancestors them a visit to The Rollright Stones is a must. You can walk to the King's Stone (across the road) Walk around the Stones themselves, picnic if the weather is f good and walk to The Whispering Knights h nearby and enter the permitted access to the adjacent woodland where you can walk the Labyrinth and around the woodland.

We visited earlier today and parked in the layby directly outside/opposite the site.
There is an admission fee of a pound which we saw noone pay.
The Mainstone is next to the layby and the large one is across the road and 50 metres along a path.
I've passed this site over 20 times and never knew these stones were there!
My advice would be to get there early....... As when we passed later on the homeward journey, there were cars parked for about 200 metres in and beyond the layby.
A nice peaceful way to spend an hour.

A fascinating historical site. Views all around were amazing. The atmosphere was peaceful and surreal. Easy parking on the main road. Glad we made the slight detour – definitely worth visiting.

Our visit here was very educational. Our guide informed us that this stone circle was one of dozens found all over the UK. Though not as famous as Stonehenge or Avebury to the South, these stones have a prominent place in UK history. The site has some great signage to help explain the historical significance. If in the area, stop in!

We started with the circular walk in Salford. It was a nice hike. The stones were fascinating. You just begin to wonder why there, why those stones? What were they doing? How long did it take? Seeing a site of Neolithic history is always cool. I almost liked this better than Stonehenge because far leas touristy and even older. Plus you can stand amongst the circles. You can touch the stones. There are some fertility legends about them as well, so I was a tad careful around them…lol.
Visit both Stonehenge and The Rollright and compare. I think these win.
We did the hike, but you can drive there and park near the circle. I suggest the hike if you have the ability. About 3 hours or so of your time.

A really interesting place to visit. We were really lucky to get a parking space as the lay-by doesn’t have many spaces but the upside to that is that parking is free. A £1 donation (50p for children over 7) means that you’re supporting the upkeep of the stones and the land they stand on.
The Whispering Knights are a few minutes walk away. The views across the valley are beautiful. Just a little further on (20 yards at most) is a gateway to a woodland area that allows access to visitors. There’s a lovely labyrinth set into the woods that would be great fun for kids (even the teen loved it!).
Across the road from the lay-by is the King Stone. Worth a visit for the views from the top alone.

We nearly drove past this attraction but we are glad that we didn't. There were only a few parking spaces on the road but we got one of them and walked easily to the stones. The area is well maintained and it was a lovely experience to just walk near to the stones and relive history.

We were visiting the Cotswolds and looked up what to see locally, so decided to visit these historic stones. There are 3 lots of stones, not far from each other. The Kings Men, the King Stone and the Whispering Knights. We were there 30-40 minutes. The parking was free in a layby. Lots of information boards explaining the stones. Interesting. There is a £1 each donation box for the trust who look at the site.

Parked on the verge without causing an issue and strolled to the Hawk stone in the field. Someone had left a Hawk stone lager bottle there which we used a prop. Thank you but leave a full one next time.

Hi! We’re considering tomorrow as a stop off on our journey to give our dog and 14 month old daughter the chance to stretch their legs. Is there anywhere nearby we could get some lunch or an ice cream maybe? Or just any other attractions? Thanks!

Hello FerringFerret. Thank you very much for this helpful info with great photos. We don't know the area at all. Where is the lay-by you can park in - or will it be obvious from road signs?

The layby is right next to the entrance, not very well sign posted right at the stones, we drove past and had to turn round.
