Visited the Information Centre as it was close to the Totem pole, had helpful information, had washrooms and central.

This information centre is a good place to stop for all your touring needs. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful (and friendly!) with plenty of maps, pamphlets and good ideas to share. There is also a gift shop which is remarkably well-stocked with interesting merchandise to meet your last-minute, panic shopping requirements. The building is kind of nice too.

κτίσμα στον κεντρικό δρόμο της πόλης μέσα σε ανοιχτό κήπο. πολύ καλή εξυπηρέτηση για όλα τα αξιοθέατα της περιοχής και ενημερωτικό υλικό. αποτελεί χρήσιμη στάση για τους επισκέπτες. ακόμα και αν δεν ξέρετε τι να κάνετε στην πόλη το προσωπικό θα σας βοηθήσει να επιλέξετε την δραστηριότητα που σας ταιριάζει.

Very helpful staff. We bought the park ticket for the car. We were given information leaflets for Jasper and Banff. They gave suggestions of what to do for our 3 days. The first day we went and bathed at the hot springs. The second day we went to a glacier (1.5 hour away) which we had booked with our travel agent. The 3rd day we hired bikes and went around lakes. Route 93 has amazing waterfalls which we did as we left to go to Lake Louise
We ate Indian , Chinese, pasta and pizzas. There is a great bakery, which you will need to queue at. Plenty of small gift shops.A busy small village

Lors de notre voyage dans l'Ouest canadien, nous sommes allés à Jasper, endroit touristique reconnu pour sa ville et son parc national canadien.
Au centre de la ville en un typique immeuble de pierre se trouvait le Centre d'information touristique.
Nous n'avons malheureusement pu y pénétrer en raison de la pandémie du covid19.
Cependant, on y avait accès à un guichet extérieur où nous avons pu obtenir ls renseignements nécessaires à notre visite de la région.
La jeune dame qui nous a accueilli était courtoise et connaissait sa matière.

Great information area and the gift shop is well stocked with interesting and local items and souvenirs not normally found on the main strip.

You can’t go in the building. People are outside with a makeshift desk and a plexiglass glass shield. Can’t hear what they’re saying or read their lips because they have a mask. Went around the corner and a guy at a boat rental shop and he gave us the info we needed. It’s not the fault of the Info Center but they can’t service visitors if they can’t communicate with them. Got the feeling the Info Center guy liked it that way. My advice is to ask someone in a tour booking place. They’re more willing to move from behind those damn shields and hold a conversation.

This was a really good place to go for extra information about what there is here. The staff are helpful and friendly and will help you sort out what to do and what's best for you. So much to see and do for one too short trip! Thanks guys!

Les servides est en anglais et en français. J'avais une question technique en relation avec mon motorisé et j'ai une une réponse documentée. J'ai trouvé ça extraordinaire.

A follow-up question to earlier one regarding visit to this area. We are not skiers and we are not backwoods hikers but we do like hikes and are not 'drive by tourists' - how long do y'all recommend we allow for our visit to Banff NP?

If time is not an issue plan at least a week in the area as there is so much to see between banff and jasper as well lake louise each area can be a couple of days and still not see everything again if time not an issue you will be busy seeing things for 10 days and love all of the time spent.

A group of 4 of us is trying to plan a trip to this area next year - preferably Late June but...we r finding many potential activities/rentals closed - when is the time most will be open to receive requests or...are we to late to be planning for a trip in June 2018?

We booked about 9 monthe prior to going. Get accommodation onairbnb and the rest you can do when you are there or contact Brewsters if you want guided tours
My son and I will be stopping in Jasper for the hour and a half stop on Via Rail on August 1st going from Vancouver to Edmonton. Any suggestions on what to do during that time?

maligne canyon is about 15 to 20 mins from jasper, you wont have time to do the entire walk but you could see a lot of the higher portion of the canyon which is still worth the trip.
if this does not suit you can easily spend an hour and a half in jasper, lots of shops and nice walks around the town and very friendly people. enjoy.

Tried Sundog Tours but they are not operating during the shoulder season. Would like to see highlights around Jasper and through to Banff. I know the train and Greyhound are operating but would like something different. Bob Garner

You could try Brewsters Tours, Travel Alberta or Tours by Locals websites for ideas and availability in April. Other ideas are skiing at Marmot Basin, ice skating at Pyramid Lake, Ice walk at Maigne Canyon. The Jasper Information Center should be able to help you with exact details on these activities.
