Great place for a trail run or hike with my kids. We go so often! The nature playground is awesome. And the Centre has lots of activities that bring not only awareness of ways to be more 'green' but doing something about them!

Great place to walk around. The deer seem to like it too as they left their dropping all along the path. I also got to pick and eat a few Saskatoon Berries. Nice little gift shop.

A gem within the City Limits. Nice to see a nature preserve all can visit and enjoy. Easy to hike and lots of wildlife.

Great place to bring your family for a little outing.
Walking around the pond is amazing.

It's a little bit of a bummer that people have destroyed much of the outdoor musical instruments; but other than that, it's a great place for a walk and to take in some nature!

A beautiful walk in nature. Lovely places to watch beaver working, muskrats playing and tons of waterfowl. The occasional deer and moose can be seen as well. Well worth the time.

My roommate and I went for a winter walk out our back door and ended up at the Kerry Wood Nature Center. We were so incredibly delighted to see a family of trumpeter swans 🦢 on our way with goslings !!! It was incredible 💞 we were able to make it all the way to the facilities where there was a beautiful art show up, and such a friendly staff as well 🥰

When we visit Red Deer, I often bring my girls here to play at the musical garden. Today we also went for a stroll behind the building. The lookout beside the lake provided stunning views. The hiking trail is well paved and the wooden lookout/boardwalk is probably one of the best ones I have seen in Alberta. New, clean, safe for toddlers to explore on their own (wont fall into water) and yet they made lots of windows for you to see the lake. My girls spent a long time there. To get to the said lookout, you go behind the building to the storybook loop. You go counter clockwise (so you enter the loop on your right), about 3 min in you will see the path to this lookout on your right.

Great way to spend an afternoon walking the trails in Kerry Wood. The longest trail, take the left side and do a big circle back to the Nature Centre, takes about an hour with some stops to climb duck blinds and viewing points. For being right in the city there is little, if any, noise. We have walked in all seasons and it smells great and there is always something to see. You can walk a shorter route as well and still see lots. There is an outdoor garden as well as children’s play and discovery area. The Nature Centre itself has washrooms and features changing exhibits and paintings as well as a family-friendly hand-on info on the area. There is a small nature store and you can buy ice cream treats and drinks from a cooler. We often leave our vehicle in the parking lot and takes our bikes as there are many paths from Kerry Wood. The neighbourhood around the area is interesting as well. Well worth seeing in any season. Bring your walking shoes and a hat!

Nice places for the kids to see some birds or just hike the paths in a natural setting. Some displays are in the building.

This nature centre has a great 5 Km walk over a variety of terrain. Quite a lot of stairs on one end of it; the other end is a sloping gravel path. Wildlife sightings may include moose, deer, porcupine, birds and more. The building hosts a variety of static displays, art, lectures and more. Family friendly. Indoor washrooms and bookstore.
