Short drive from the beach and a short (5 min) walk up. Beautiful views of both Okanagan and Skaha Lakes. How did they get the concrete of the Penticton sign to work???

This is a beautiful short walk for families. You get amazing views after a short, but steep climb. It would be nice to have more maintained trails along the mountain though.

Easy to get to, and nice views of Penticton. We were just a little disappointed because we thought it was a hike. Would have liked the view better if we had to earn it!

We love to climb the trails. We never get tired of the views. We visit here as often as possible which is definitely at least once a week.

Excellent vantage point to have a bird's eye view of Penticton and surrounding mountains.
The climb was a bit steep so good walking shoes are a must.
It was quite windy that day but nonetheless, the views made it worthwhile.

The peak is only 5 minute hike from the parking lot. Little longer if you wanted to take the easier path. At the peak, you are above the "PENTICTON" sign, great open 360 view of the whole area. Loved it.

What an amazing view of Penticton, vineyards, OK Lake and Skaha Lake,' PENTICTON' letters, etc etc. A short paved path to the shady gazebo, a short dirt path to climb higher up but so worth it! Lots of benches along the way. Have water with on hot days. Absolutely a MUST DO when in the area!

Great trails with fantastic views of Penticton, Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake.
See the Penticton sign up close. Right around the corner from Naramata soo perfect to go for a wine tasting after a hike.

Can we walk from town to the start of the trail?
Skrevet 18. februar 2016
With my two young grandchildren about 11 & 8 we walked from the Peach, up to Munson Mtn. & back, easily within our day plans.
We started about mid morning & made it up there easily, even stopped off at a few places to enjoy the scenery or what we found locally. They are still talking of this adventure to this day & they are now over 16 & almost 13. It was such a special adventure. Would love to do this again.
Make sure you take lots of water, especially on the warmer days, we were so very thirsty on our way back down (as we drank all of our water), (and we managed to burn it off & did NOT need a bathroom, happily we burned it off as there are NO bathrooms anywhere). But happily there are lots of groves selling their wares and we had beautiful peaches to requenched our thirst.
But once we reached the top we had a nice late lunch picnic before making our way back down.
An adventure well worth taking, Just make sure you have the correct route before leaving. It can be somewhat confusing. Happy adventures! :-D :-D

I'd like to know where it is from Penticton. I have been to Penticton Often, but never heard of Munson Mountain.

It is right where you see the "Penticton" sign; that is Munson Mtn.
Its a fun hike, be prepared. And no there are NO bathrooms; which can be an issue with younger children; though when we went it was a very warm day; and we burned off all that we drank. Though were VERY thirsty on our way down; thank heavens for fruit groves & their wares; as we were able to get some lovely peaches, which replensished our thirst. Happy Hiking. Oh, yes, the drive up there is super easy, though NOT near as much fun! :-D

As the answer above from Bernie B in Penticton that pretty well answers your question. It is a beautiful place to walk up and sit awhile on the benches provided and it is a super spot to take photographs of the lake and the City of Penticton. Once you complete your visit here, meander up the roads to Upper Bench and drive along the Naramata Bench where you will find many wineries and stop in the Village as well, for a snack, lunch or dinner. It is a most enjoyable time spent!
