It’s worth a stop even for 30 minutes. We were there on a windy day in October. All the buildings were closed for the season, but it was well worth the visit to walk around and watch the waves. There was a lower parking lot and then one further up the hill closer to the lighthouse. If you have time during your stay, Ferryland is another great spot further down the coast.

Karen, If your in a hotel downtown, ask the concierge , he can probably get a good deal on a half day taxi. If your comfortable driving yourself, call Enterprise, rent a car, it's an easy drive, use your I-phone for direction. When your back from there, drive across the hill to tour Quidi Vidi brewery for a tour, then up to the Rooms museum to really get a good sense of the history of St.John. Enjoy your stay!!
