I plan to return to this promising woodlot in the spring. Winter is nice for forest bathing, but the wildlife is less abundant at this time of year. Managers of this property have done a nice job with buildings, signage and parking. My complaint would be with trail maintenance; it doesn't have to be muddy with proper substrate and there is very little nature signage nor trail maps to encourage the hiker/wanderer. The one boardwalk I was on could be extended and wood upgrade would help too. This in an inner city park and thus very valuable for wildlife habitat and corridors. Kudos to the visionary founders.

This place is a wonderful place to hike and see and experience nature. A bubbling river, gentle trails, lush wooded areas all the more made magnificent by amazing Fall colours, birds chirping, deer sightings sometimes.
This has always been a favourite park of mine here in Mississauga.

This is a wonderful place to walk trails, see birds and experience gardens.
A place to enjoy the outdoors and to sit and contemplate.
It is surprisingly close to Mississauga city centre.
We enjoyed this “find” very much.

Riverwood is walking distance from our house but I hadn't been there for several years. Went there to give my granddaughter some driving practice and realized again how beautiful it is. Great Walking trails and wonderful gardens. after the driving practice we stopped the car and hiked a couple of trails. Only early September but the leaves were already turning. We will go back at the end of the month to experience its total fall spectacle.
One caution, their are coyotes. Not a good place to walk small dogs.

I cannot appreciate more that we have this awesome park just 5 min away from our house. Our toddlers love flowers, trees, birds, trails in this great beautiful park. There is a chapel in the park as well.
Overall great experience for outings, picnics, natural enjoyment

Visit this Park in June if you want to see beautiful flowers such as peonies and azaleas in bloom. The Mac Ewan Terrace Gardens at Riverwood Park in Mississauga is one place we discovered that is a hidden gem near our city. The nearby Chapelle house and its gardens located inside the Conservancy is also a must visit .

Hiking paths are interesting and sometimes moderately challenging. Some interesting buildings on site, but all closed due to COVID. Hiking towards the highway has annoying road hum, so go south along the Credit river. Much more enjoyable. Parking is available.

Must explore the trail for all ages. Lots of birds spotting, the river flowing and well-marked trails. Very picturesque as well

Have always wanted to visit but never got around to it until recently. Read up about Riverwood days before going so we knew what to expect, like, free parking, scenic trails, historic buildings, well-kept gardens, possible bird sightings and, due to COVID-19 precautions, no available washrooms. Planned a weekday morning visit which got postponed twice because of rain. Woke up to clear skies on Thu, Aug 6, so quickly got dressed for the slightly cool weather (14C) then went on our way.
Plenty of parking spots available when we arrived at the Main Parking lot at 8:10AM. We set out later than planned so we only spent a short time looking at MacEwan Terrace Garden, MacEwan Barn and MacEwan House. We headed south of the Yellow Trail which took us to the Burnhamthorpe entrance where the Pine Sanctuary sculpture stands. A few minutes later we were back on the Yellow Trail, this time taking the left fork which connects with the Red Trail. There are several bird feeding stations along the trails so the possibility of wild bird sighting is there. Despite being noisy trail walkers, we chanced upon a Cooper's hawk at the first boardwalk. We were hoping to see more but, alas, our wildlife sightings were limited to a blue jay, a robin, a few other birds we could not identify plus some squirrels and chipmunks.
It was a good thing we took a pic of Riverwood map because we never saw another map while on the trail. This was our first ever visit so we checked the map whenever we reached a fork to know where we were. The Red Trail eventually met Culham Trail which we followed south. We found ourselves looking up the Burnhamthorpe Road bridge then climbing the stairs to street level, bringing us back again at the Riverwood entrance. We then took a detour to Wahoosh Falls and came back to Riverwood an hour later. By then, it was midmorning and we were too tired and hungry to explore the Green Trail or see Chappell Gardens.
Riverwood reminded us a little of Adamson Estate (barn) and Rattray Marsh (boardwalk) except bikes are allowed here. The Yellow and Red Trails are an easy hike though not mostly flat. Some sections are tree-lined, some have boardwalks and the occasional bark mulch. Expect muddy areas and big puddles if visiting after a heavy rain.

Fun place to walk around and enjoy a day out among the flowers and see the various birds in the area. There are interesting wood carvings , as well as being able to go down for a walk along the Credit River. Ample free parking.

Yes! :) I was just there today (Fri. Oct. 5th) - lots of birds, Chipmunks and Squirrels including my favourite Red Squirrels - so cute, noisy and full of attitude. Ha Ha! Finally saw my Nemesis Bird today for the first time in 25 years of birding ... Red-bellied Woodpecker. Woo Hoo! :D

What Go train goes to Riverwood Conservancy. I heard it is only a 7 minute walk from the GO train station.

Take the GO train to Erindale Station. Then walk West along Burnhamthorpe Road to the entrance road to the park.

NOTE: The veggies cannot be picked by visitors - only by staff. But it looked awesome to see them growing so well!!
