Gutes Restaurant - Queenston Heights Restaurant. Begrenzte Parkmöglichkeiten (zu stolzen Preisen...).

This park has become quite pricey. Parking is now $20 flat rate for 4 or more hours! Washrooms are far away and park is not handicap accessible.
Rental of a shared area in the pavilion with a small charcoal bbq is pricey too.
But- our family (52 of us came this year) had a great time and the kids love the splash pool.

We lucked out and hapened to be there during the anniversary of the battle of Queenston Height during the war of 1812. Great job by the reenactors plus they had the monument open and we were able to climb the narrow spiral staircase to the lookout at the top. Very cool. Well worth it.

This site has a bit of everything. You can go for a picnic at any of the myriad of picnic tables to the left on entering. You can admire the floral displays. You can have a high end lunch or dinner, the Niagara River your view. You can take the 20M or so walk, describing the Battle of Queenston Heights where Sir Isaac Brock lost his life in the defence of British territory, learning about the important role played by the Colored Corps and indigenous forces that fateful day. You can tour the Brock Monument, making the climb to its upper reaches for a bird's eye view. It is a great spot to while away several hours. There are very clean public washrooms opposite the restaurant. Like everywhere, there is a parking charge.

This was our first stop on our wine tour. Our tasting was delicious, the lady knew a lot about their wines. We left the winery with a few bottles or our own and we are looking forward to having it with diner soon

An 1854 memorial to Major General Sir Isaac Brock, killed here during an invasion by American troops of British Canada in the War of 1812-14 towers over the park, its picnic area, access to the Bruce Trail, and small gardens. The view of the area below the Niagara Escarpment takes you to Lake Ontario and even to Toronto across the lake (on a clear day). Very interesting historical information about the Battle of Queenston Heights in which the British military leader lost his life. The War ended up being a "draw," but being right on the border with New York State, this area had numerous skirmishes. Interesting to history buffs and those enjoying geography and scenery.

If you need a place to picnic and to run the kids, this is a large, green park with a view down to the Niagara River and Lake Ontario. If you have the time and wherewithal, the restaurant offers great food and wonderful views.

Take the walking path around the park starting at the Brock monument. Look over the escarpment where a formative battle in 1812 & 1813 was waged. Nice parkland. Not many places to sit.

Where is the parking lot for this park?

There is plenty of parking at Queenston Heights. Enter the park from the traffic circle on the Niagara River Parkway. After a short entry lane turn left.
If I want to BBQ, what should I bring equipment? like a grill, etc..

I recommend bringing your own grill and arrive early enough to claim a picnic table - there are lots of tables, but not all are located ideally. There are covered pavilions, but often large groups will book these in advance. There are decent public washrooms and a small concession stand. There is also a wading pool and a very good children's play area. All free, except for a walk up Brock's Monument - named after the British General who was mortally wounded on this spot during the War of 1812, it is a London spiral staircase to the top where fallout views down river are your reward for this rather confining climb.

The queenston heights park. Is free to the pubic. It is easily accessed by the wee go bus along the parkway . There are picnic grounds if you would like to pack your own.. There is a restaurant patio on site..
