Wow, this place was amazing. Cool to see the history of it - that it wasn't royal or anything. The castle, the grounds, the tunnels, the stables - all of it was so beautiful! And I loved that you were able to enter into the bedrooms (part of it was roped off, but you still were able to walk in or through it to the next room. Also you got to see where the staff slept and you can go to the roof!

This could be nice, or maybe once it was. But there is a lot of deferred maintenance. No metal was polished. Most wood work was not dusted. Walls and furniture showed a lot of wear and tear. They charged $20 parking and $35 per person to get in and both times I went there they were swamped! Where is the money going?

Not to maintenance!!

To bad

It really is a castle!!! We loved climbing up in the Turrets! I loved the Girl Guide history and we both loved the library and bed rooms. The only detractor and reason for only 4 stars is that the Turrets were set up as escape rooms so it took a little of the historical experience away. The old bathrooms were fun to see-especially the shower that looked like a torture cage.

Casa Loma is a gothic style castle not far from the centre of Toronto, it was built by Sir Henry Pellat in 1911, there are over 90 rooms including a 1800 bottle wine cellar and library containing approx. 10.000 books, There are 3 floors with rooms to view including the Great Hall with 60 ft ceilings, the castle also houses the Queen's Own Rifles museum on the third floor, this is well worth a visit.

Beautiful historical castle! Lots of preservation to the home and artifacts. The grounds and garden were beautiful! A little pricey, but beautiful nonetheless. The underground tunnels were intriguing. Lots of walking and climbing stairs. Wouldn’t necessarily do it again, but was interesting for one time. Would recommend two hours total time.

We spent literal hours here. There’s so much to see and do. From taking the underground tunnels to the stables and other areas to climbing the two towers and looking across the city, to doing one of the escape rooms, or just enjoying the fascinating history of this beautiful building and grounds, there’s something for everyone.
TBH, I only booked it because I knew My wife would love it, but I think I liked it just about as much as she did. I’d definitely visit again if I’m ever in Toronto again.
They have a very good eatery, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s also a car park onsite.
Just do it.

Very expensive housing experiment by an ex-pat Brit that would be classed as new money attempting to buy a lifestyle.
Externally, the house is seriously impressive. Internally, the main hall is formidable, and the view out over Toronto from there and the gardens is lovely, I can see why he built it where he did.
The audio tour was reasonable, although felt weird holding my phone to my head, and the boards gave basically the same information. However at least you knew you weren’t going to miss anything.
Unfortunately I was using a stick, and the house doesn’t lend itself to that - although there is a lift, it wasn’t working.
It wasn’t too busy, and only one annoying tour party disturbed. Although the references to the owners links to the military felt a little forced.
The views from the open tower were good, worth the climb (although again, I had to let me wife go as I couldn’t do the spiral staircase with a stick, far too narrow)

However to describe two cars as a car collection (down a very damp 800ft tunnel) was a bit misleading. The stables are nice and cost a lot of money (but that’s it) just added to the anticlimax I’m afraid

Nice place, won’t need to visit again though.

Wasn't too sure to spend time here but was actually and factually very good . Very well documented and the artefacts on show defined the era and wealth this man bought to Toronto. As mentioned before its a trot up from Dupont Station ..carry a brolly in case .. We didn't !!😮‍💨

If you like history, architecture, and going at your own pace; Casa Loma is a great fit for you. You can do a mapped or an audio tour (so you may want to bring some earpods/buds-wish we would have known that. The architecture and history is very interesing. If you are into military and war info, this is definitely for you. The views from the towers are amazing and the see the construction at the time built is too. We did the tour pretty quickly (2.5 hours) could have slowed the pace down.

Interesting place with rooms to explore using a QR code to access a commentary. Nice grounds with views back to the city. Third floor all about military history which isn't really my bag. Underground tunnel to stables and (2] old cars. Been a filmset for a surprising number of movies. Not cheap at $40 and a bit of a schlep up stairs from Dupont metro station
