Has toilets, Cafe is nice but needs a dog free sction. Parking can be tricky at peak times. Nice woods and gardens and FREE!

I'm always visiting High Elms as I am lucky enough to live just 10 minutes walk away. Easy walking access from the village through the woodlands.
Also easy to find by car too. Signposted clearly all the way. Small car park at the main entrance, you can also access the park through the golf course car park or carry on up the hill to another car park. Suitable for dog walking
The grounds are always very well looked after. There used to be an interesting nature trail and information centre, this is now a small cafe which I am yet to visit

First time visiting here. It is fairly big country park with woodlands, gardens and ruins of an old mansion etc. We stayed for about 3 hours and walked around a lot of park but there are so many different routes to take that it would need a few visits to walk around it all.
Downsides were that the trails were impossible to follow as the signs were poor and there seemed to be about 10 different trails mentioned as you walked around which aren’t mentioned on the map of the park. We gave up trying to follow a trail as it was too confusing and we just made up our own routes.
Another downside is that there is lots of dog poo around the woods and quite a lot is in poo bags and then just left on the floor! Several lazy and selfish dog owners.

Some lovely countryside and woods for kids to run around and blow off some energy. One bad thing....the amount of dog poo everywhere!!! Dog owners obviously think it's ok to leave it behind bcos it Woodlands. No its not ok....this has put me off returning to the place. One of the smaller kids stepped in the poo and had to clean her shoes! Disgusting....

A new place for us to walk with dog . Woodland and open area . Great find . Not least the cafe . Good menu but importantly the food was freshly made and very tasty . Nice staff and given how busy it was , the waiting time wasn’t too long . Outside benches and lots of satisfied customers . Dog treats available at counter ! Will be back

Lovely well maintained wood walks to try to follow - signage so so. My husband and I visited with our dog and went to the cafe where dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating area but not inside the cafe itself so I was glad I wasn't alone or I would not have been able to order/go inside. We had bacon rolls and coffee costing £14.60 - they were tasty. The car park is relatively small given people drive to country parks and on the Sunday afternoon we visited was not only packed but had a big queue so we had to leave and find parking elsewhere quite a walk away.

Had a lovely Sunday afternoon walk through the woods. Arrived about 3:30pm and the pathways were very quiet though there was a short queue at the café and ice cream van.

Because of covid this was a welcome walk with my wife and daughter. It is a huge park with lots of places to walk to with old ruins to view that have notices telling you what buildings were there and what they looked like, you can also wander on to the High Elms Golf Course and pick up lost golf balls as nobody can play at the moment. Also a cafe there for a hot drink and they also do food all to take away.

Great place to take a walk or enjoy a picnic. We went there with our new born and took a walk with her in a sling. There is lot of well maintained green spaces as well as a pathway into the wooded wilderness. Highly recommended!
