Originally recorded as being in existence in 1219 and as belonging to the Abbot of St. Albans; this lovely old church is full of attractive and historic features. The stained glass windows are excellent and the thirteen plaques of the stations of the cross are really worth seeing, especially made by Sisters of the church and given anonymously following the ending of the 1939-45 war. Set in a pleasant garden with seating and close to the town centre. We enjoyed a peaceful stroll in the garden after an interesting visit in the church. Recommend.

This church is beautiful both inside and out and has the added feature of a Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery alongside its own churchyard. This contains the graves of WW1 Anzac servicemen evacuated from France to the nearby hospital but who did not survive. This hospital is now the world famous Harefield Heart Hospital. There was probably a church here at the time of the Doomsday Book, but the earliest parts of the current building date back to the 1100s. The building has regularly been expanded and refurbished throughout its history. The dominant local connection is to the Newdigate family, who held the benefit of the church living for many years after the dissolution in England in the Reformation in 1540 of the Order of the Knights of St John of Jerusalem, who were the original beneficiaries of the church. There are numerous Newdigate family memorials within the church. The interior is in complete contrast to the austere beauty of the exterior, which is mainly notable for its checkerboard stone pattern. This is the oldest surviving building in Harefield and very well worth a visit. It can be found down a side road leading off and parallel to Church Hill. There is a signpost to show the way.

Love this church, it’s so beautiful and tranquil. The midnight mass is all lite via candle and the service is lovely

My husband's family have had a connection to this church for a long time so we chose this as our wedding church. The church itself is beautiful inside and out and the vicar is so friendly and welcoming. I honestly couldn't have imagined getting married in a better place.

In October we had our Daughter's christened here as well. Again, the setting was just perfect and everyone involved at the church made it a very stress-free process.

Absolutely gorgeous church, would have like to look around inside but sadly all the doors were closed. The graveyard is well kept with some peculiar tombstones, which might be normal for the area, I've never seen the like in Yorkshire.

Hi, sadly my first visit to this church was for a friends funeral.

Some churches are Abit cold and stony looking inside, but I was impressed by the inside of this lovely church. It was lovely inside, the pews had nice soft seating.
The windows were beautful with the detailing and it was warm in the church .

Parking is down the lane which leads to the church, it can get Abit busy.
