My wife and I met my dad at Stoke Bruerne because we were in the area and fancied a quick coffee. This was our first visit to the cafe and we were all pleasantly surprised, we only had coffees and some crisps but it was a lovely location, the coffee was really nice, the views are lovely and the staff were so friendly. It's definitely a place we'll pop into again when we're in the area and might have some food next time too.

The museum is relatively small but gives a very good idea of what canal life was like. Good history of the Grand Union canal and the boats that used it in its heyday. Nice cafe on site too. Very pleasant place to watch canal life.

Visited here back in the summer of 2021, restrictions had been lifted of sorts and thought as it was mainly outside, it would be a bit of a safer Covid option. There is ample parking and it is well sign posted from the A5. For an extra few pounds, we went on a canal ride up towards the Blissworth Tunnel which was really enjoyable. There was a wedding taking place at one of the venues opposite which was great entertainment as there was Morris Dancing which I'd never seen before. The museum is set over 2 floors and gives a real insight into how important they were post railway England. Great little cafe and ice cream stall too, all in all, a pleasant day.

We visited the canal and museum while we were on holiday it was well worth it the staff at the museum were very pleasant and very helpful The boat crew were excellent dealing with not wanting to leave the boat and was crying they ended up making him laugh and giving him a photo of the boat to take with him Great piece of work.

This is a small simple cafe next door to the museum. It offers sandwiches and soup and hot and cold drinks. It is simple food, but it is done very well. We had a toasted brie, bacon and cranberry sandwich. It was excellent, very tasty and with lovely bacon which was not too fatty. It was just what we wanted for a light lunch on a cold day. It is also very good value and the service was good. I would recommend for a light lunch.

If you like canals then you will love the canal museum that has a cafe attached to it. You can even look out at the canal while you have a coffee. Three floors of canal related information and artefacts. There is a separate company offering a canal trip through the nearby canal tunnel which is one of the longest in England.

Heading up the M1 we found this a great place to take a break and stop for lunch. Only a short distance from J15, it has a great cafe and a very pleasant place to stretch the legs for a hour or two during a long journey.
The tow path walks are free but there is a small cost for the museum and pay'n'display car park.

A real potted history of the local and national canal system. I would have liked to have seen a little more on the wartime use but there was a bit for everyone. Lovely cafe attached as well
