I do not understand why this place is rated so high in traveling books and traveling sites. It was absolutely underwhelming! A village full of new houses, among which a few (but really a few) painted houses stand. Those are also mostly new or older sheds and are painted by the owners but not in any traditional but rather in a tacky way. It was an absolute waste of time. We drove 1.30h from Krakow to spend exactly 15 min there, driving around to find the houses, because it is not like a nice little village where you walk around. What a waste of time. Instead if you have time, go visit beautiful Tarnow.

I wanted to go there after seeing a photo on the internet. The more I looked into it, the more I realized it was a difficult place to get to on my own, so since I was traveling alone, I looked for a guide who would take me there on my own.
The houses are far apart so you have to walk quite a distance to get there, so it was good to have a car. The church, well and statue of Mary are all painted, and it's a really cute village. My expectations were high, but I'm glad I went.

約１０年ぶりにタルヌフからバスで再訪した。前回はタルヌフの観光案内所と密な連絡を取って、無事クラクフから行けた。今回は6/7案内所を訪れ、6/8ザリピエ行バス時間を確認。バス停で待てどバスは来ないので隣のおじさんに聞くと、本日は聖体の祝日でバスも店もお休みと。道理で教会はめかし込んだ人々で一杯だった。翌日気を取り直してザリピエ行バス発着所と日本語表記のあるバス停で待つと、先行乗車のおばさんが 運転手にその旨伝えてくれて、なんと１ｋｍ離れたバス停ではなく、博物館前で降ろしてくれた。12Zt.の入村料を払うと、博物館の3軒の建物の内部の説明をポーランド語でしてくれる。帰りのバスの予定を聞いて、2時間かかる徒歩個人ツアーの始まりである。歩いているのは日本人だけ、LocalはMy car観光だが、空いている。

Beautiful little village, fascinating wall painting, very colourful and Instagram worthy, the community hall is a must to see as there is some history of the artist and nice paintings, there is a nice kids play area next to the community centre

Byłam tu pierwszy raz. Pewnie przed Covid-19 do chat można było wejść, teraz wnętrza niestety można tylko podglądać przez otwarte okna. Atutem jest to, że malowane chatki (prywatne) są rozsiane po całej wsi. Czterokilometrowy spacer to jak dla mnie w sam raz. Wioska i muzeum w zagrodzie Felicji Curyłowej mają swój niepowtarzalny urok, zwlaszcza w słoneczny, ciepły dzień. Polecam!

We have been meaning to visit this village for a long time as it is in our voividship.
The small painted buildings are very attractive and the interiors beautifully decorated. There is a video in the barn that shows the annual competition held eveey year for the best paintings.
The only disappointment was there were not that many houses to see (and not possible to enter during Covid-19), which is strange given that it attracts visitors and so revenue to the village.
Try to visit Kielce if you can - the voivodeship capital.

Jechać specjalnie w to miejsce to kategorycznie nie polecam. Nie ma tam nic za wyjątkiem kilku domów pomalowanych w tamtejsze wzory.
Zwykła wioska, brak jakiegokolwiek zaplecza gastronomicznego a nawet sklepu.
Niby jest szlak ale ogólnie to nie nie robi większego szału
Więcej zobaczycie na zdjęciach niż to co jest w realu.

nie wiem dlaczego Oleśno znalazło się w artykule "Co warto zobaczyć na Opolszczyźnie". Na Opolszczyźnie jest Olesno, które również warto odwiedzić.

Because we were traveling from Krakow to Warsaw in a rental car we decided to visit the salt mine and then spend the night at the Hotel Cristal Park, which is just 15 minutes from Zalipie (pronounced Za-LEEP-ia) and on the way, to Warsaw on the back roads. It was a relaxing departure from the cathedrals and castles that are usually part of a trip to Europe. The Homestead of Felicja Curylowa is a wonderful experience. Two other homes, also great examples of the painted houses, were moved there so it was easy to see the interiors. An English speaking young woman took us through the homes and explained the history of the houses. After we visited all three, we drove down side streets aimlessly, hoping to find other painted houses. They dotted the countryside and were lovely. I would suggest asking for a map of the painted houses location. I did not think to do it and someone has provided a photo of a map on this site if you scroll through the photos. I loved the gardens, fences, and flowers that dot the countryside. We spent about 90 minutes here and then continued on our way to Warsaw. It was well worth the diversion for me. My husband enjoyed the stop as much as I did.

Where in town is the museum located. Is the museum open on Mondays?

Zalipie is a small village, not in any way a town. The 'museum' is part of the village hall which is easy enough to find. If you have a GPS, it is at 50º 14' 12.22" N 20º 51' 12.22 E. If you have a map, and are coming from Krakow, turn off road 79 about 1km before Nowy Korszyn and follow on your map from there. If you don't have a map, take a tour. You can always look on Google Earth which has the village marked clearly.
As I recall, the museum, such as it is, is open every day in summer.
