On the 18 of Jan, I left by 10:32am from Lagos heading down to sango ota thinking I will get to sango ota by 12:30pm unfortunately for me I got to the place by 2:15pm.

Quickly i jump out from the bus and I enter the bus going to brewery bustop along abeokuta expressway. From sango ota to brewery bustop took me for about 2hrs plus because it's a public bus. Immediately I got to brewery bustop I enter bike which drove me down to olusegun obansajo presidential library.

From the entrance I called the manager, and she directed me to a tour guide; who guide me and explained everything in the library bit by bit.

Olusegun Obansajo Presidential Library is one of his kind.. This library was conceived in 1988 to immortalize him and it was actualized after he became the president of federal republic of Nigeria..

The first place I visited was called "The Arrival Pavilion" This place talks more on how olusegun obansajo started;

*First was the bicycle; is a replica of what Chief Olusegun Obasanjo used to navigate his Ota farm when he left government in 1979.

*Secondly was the Volkswagen beetle, it was said, that was the place they have their peaceful discussion about how to end the civil war..

*thirdly; The Peugeot 504 was said be is first official car..

*Fourth; Nissan patrol SUV was use to conveyed him and his late wife, stella,to state security service when he implicated himself in the phantom coup in 1995. The SUV was also use to bring him back home from prison.

*Fifth; Mercedes Benz Pop Mobile was used during president olusegun obansajo second term compaign and I was met to understand that this Benz was made up of bulletproof.

And Mercedes Benz is one of his several personal cars.

*Military Helicopter (mi34ut) was use in millitary training.the tour guide make me to understand, this helicopter has two control power. one of the control power is for the trainer and the other one is for the trainee. The controller handle by the trainer is called life power.

Infact other machines like the COMMAND LANDROVER, NNS ARADU_NIGERIA NICCAL SHIP F89, ARMOURED VEHICLE was use during his military days..

Then, we both move to the main presidential library.

Lot of history about the ex president was found in these presidential library.

Like is uniform which he normally put on when he was the military head of state was hang there.

The prison where he stay for 3yrs was rebuilt exactly inside this library.

Brief history from the tour guide; he was sentence to life imprisonment but due to external bodies the imprisonment was reduced to 15yrs. During his serving in that prison he was giving a choice of job to do and he choose farming… Although he did not stay up to 15yrs in prison rather his wife campaign for his release after the death of Gen Sani Abacha and was release by Abdulsalami Abubakar.

His prison wears, watercan, and his farm product(maize) are still there in the library.

President olusegun obansajo received many gifts- artefacts and trinkets from within Nigeria and around the world. This gift are found in that library…

He also own a school called The Bell both in pry, secondary and tertiary..

This library also have where you can rest after touring to a point..

The library also contain the books written by him, the cone, the history about telecommunication in Nigeria, ballet box for election, and lastly Aso Rock office Reconstruction

Many more are found in that library which we interest you if you visit the library.

Also; so many art work are found in the library.

Rules: You won't be allow to take any pictures or recording at all for security reasons. the only place you can take pictures are outside the library..
You can go with book and pen to jott things down…

Am Dennis Chukwuebuka (Great) Okeke Ozomena.

I actually thought it was a real library you could visit to read books but it's actually more than that. The presidential library houses a couple of facilities you can visit. Starting from welcome pavilion that houses an Artifacts room and a cinema. Then the main library building which is museum giving you insights to Olusegun Obasanjo's life from childhood to his rise in the army and presidential career. Entry fee is 3000 Naria. Cameras are not allowed inside but they have their own photographers who can take your pictures at a fee. The entrance includes a guided tour.

I had the great fortune to have a visit to the Obasanjo Presidential Library. The museum is beautifully put together and our tour guides were all exceptional. My favorite part of the museum is the area where kids can put on the clothing of different professions and then take a picture of themselves with that professional setting in the backdrop. It is so inspirational and aspirational. It really helped me appreciate the vision of President Obasanjo. He is an amazing man and, by all means, take the time to visit his Presidential Library, if you ever have a chance!

The meeting rooms were well situated and sized to accommodate different party sizes. I quite appreciate the decor and the staff were helpful.

The Green Resort Hotel that houses the Library sums the southward movement of standard at that facility. It get worse year on year. Leaking AC, worn out rugs, walls needing paint job. Still has its charm nonetheless, but for how long?

The Presidential library is located in Abeokuta. It is more of a museum + library.
Warning, pictures are not allowed in the library only outdoors. They need to work on a faster way of getting photos to people especially when there will be a lot of people.
It all starts with an introductory video about the library and President Obasanjo. The tour guide took us to the first part where we saw cars (and a bicycle) that the president used. There were also models of War vehicles used during the civil war. Next stage is the main library where we watched another video about the how Nigeria was formed, African civilisation. We were taken to see archives of presidential documents and artifacts. There was a model of his prison and of course a special area for the Late Stella Obasanjo.
We were not able to go the farm area and another library section. I recommend that you plan at least 3 hours to really enjoy the place. I learnt soo much. I will definitely return.

The cinema was good and cool atmosphere, I think they can improve on the pop corn wrapper because half will definitely pour out b4 u even settle to watch the movies.

The chalet prices are a bit expensive, if the prices could be a little bit reduced I think more customers will enjoy it.

As for the bamboo grove the chicken n chips n other food lovely but they need proper management as there seems to be none or poor management there.

Good ambiance, full of nature and a pla e u would definitely enjoy.

First off, a Presidential Library isn’t a library in the classic sense. It’s rather an archive of documents and Presidential artifacts, in this case of former President Obasanjo. And though by nature it is rather self-glorifying it is also interesting to witness a period of Nigerian history through this lense.

The Library includes election materials, old-time vehicles from the president’s first bicycle to a full-blown helicopter, photos with well-known heads of state around the world and display of the gifts received, overviews and context of major campaigns such as Operation Feed the Nation, a replica of the cell where the president was incarcerated and much more. Very well informed tour guides lead you around the exhibitions and provide all the information you need.

At the end of the tour is a replica of the presidential Aso Rock office (like the White House Oval office) where you can take a picture and ponder about your own ambitions ;-)

Unfortunately no own photos are allowed anywhere, official photographers take pictures which need to be paid for, despite there already being an entrance fee. A shame, but nonetheless I highly recommend a visit.

Nice Place to learn about Nigerian History. It's not really a library. More like a museum of sorts. With lots of historical information. I loved it.
